A huge set of wings fluttered in the breeze. High in the sky, a large steppe eagle drifted this way and that. A person could easily question why the bird was drifting over a herd of deer like so, but only those who had seen the eagle would know why he was there. Aziz could never take down a deer; He was large for his kind but being himself he would never even try. The eagle was regal, proud, and strong. As he overlooked the herd he spotted the wolves at the edge of the herd. One ear flick and motion and he knew the target. Aziz let out a screech, telling his friend on the other side of the herd the target.
"Dumb wolf! Listen to me now! It is the buck yearling with the new antlers! Wait for alpha's signal!" To most it was gibberish but to the wolf hiding in the grass it was a whole conversation in one call. Brock moved fluidly forward and through a set of bushes to get closer to the herd. His silver eyes searched for the target Aziz had spoken of. He cursed under his breath. The bird was never specific on location, but then again, he had to be thankful that he was able to show up to the hunt last, completely away from the pack, and still be able to participate.
Brock had known for a long time that he was able to talk to others, and his skills had developed more and more as time progressed. The male still missed his old partner, a magpie named Stek, that wouldn't curse at him like his new friend would. But they had found each other, Brock and Aziz, through their ability to talk to other animals and hunting was their favorite past time. It had only been a few months, but their skills together as a team had developed dramatically.
Looking upon the herd, Brock waited. He knew that one screech had already told the pack that he was there to help turn their target back to the pack, and Aziz was waiting to help from above. Then, as if in a moment of fate, he spotted the target.
