| Thanks the heavens Lysander was used to being self-sufficient! It fact, it was the virtue that he most endorsed, besides independence. Everyone seemed so busy, that Lysander hadn't talked to his packmates in weeks. Normally this didn't bother him, but it left him wondering. Was he doing something wrong? Was it bad that he wasn't busy hunting, finding a mate or satisfying some other natural drive, whether it be for himself or the pack itself? The Ethiopian Wolf grumbled and quipped to himself, brilliant green eyes looking suspiciously out across the flat landscape around him. The Lamar Valley in the springtime reminded him just a little too much of his homeland in Ethiopia, before he and his family had boarded a darn sea-faring vessel. He cursed himself everyday for that.
Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if that hadn't happened... Yawning, the sleek-bodied male slumped into the shade rather lazily in the afternoon sun, flexing his claws every now and then as he settled in. His belly was full from a noon-time hunt (Resulting in a fair-sized hare.) and he felt content. The serious, and sometimes sarcastic male sometimes felt a numbing urge to go it alone again, but that was just dumb. His wild urges wouldn't let the logical-minded rest easy often, but the reddish wolf's will was remarkably strong. Closing his eyes, Lysander nailed down the exact emotion he felt. He was bored. Not just bored, but bored to death type of bored. There was no excitement, maybe he needed to visit Lakota. The female had been fun to play around with, letting the three year old wolf let go of his nearly uptight demeanor for a few hours. Or perhaps he needed a new friend who was like-minded to the confident wolf, but different enough for the occasional debate Lysander liked to compete in.
Or something like that...
Lyrics: N/A Notes: For those wondering about the title, 'Liberator' is the meaning of Lysander's name. =) OOC: Err... not my best post for Lysander, I guess my muse isn't too strong either right now, but it's enough! ^_^'

Alexander stepped through the dense trees to see a vast open land. He recognized this to be a valley, and he liked what he saw. Even after traveling for around 3 years, he couldn't recall ever seeing a place this fascinating to look at, or maybe it was a much more simple solution - that he was so tired any place would look to be a new, comfortable home to his tired eyes, mind, and body.
Xander sniffed the air to get a good feel of his surroundings, and he quickly grew fond of the scents he picked up. Though the grass did not seem that long, it suited Xander's taste as he looked around, his instincts trying their hardest to kick in and make the proud wolf act like a pup, lolling on the ground. He fought this urge hard as he was not sure yet if he was being watched. A place like this could not be left unattended for long, as it was a nice open area that could easily be over-ran by another pack. Technically being a loner, Xander realized that he most likely didn't stand a chance if he was found to be not welcome in this territory, but he knew how to show respect enough to be liked - or so he hoped. This land was completely different than where he grew up, and where he had left his paw prints, so undoubtedly, the inhabitants would be just as different.
Just as Xander had realized he had let his guard down with his eyes closed and his breath becoming shallow to feel the cool breeze, he snapped his eyes open in the instant and cocked his head to the right, seeing another wolf a bit of distance away. He held his body tight, and his head high, as to show that he was very well capable of defending himself. Though he didn't smell the scent of danger, he knew that scents could not always be trusted, even if that's what most creatures went by. He stayed in a steady position, but never showing any threat to the other wolf. He used his peripheral vision to see the wolf, so that he was not looking directly into his eyes, for he had learned early on that was considered a challenge.

| Just as his tension was all gone and he was going to nap for a little while, the male was snapped awake by another wolf's scent in the air. A loner's scent, to be more exact. Emerald green eyes flying open and broad, large ears perking and leaning forward to catch any sound made better, Lysander couldn't help but feel a bit sullen. But now was not the time to feel sorry for himself. Seeing a dark form in the sunset's light at a bit of a distance from him, he quickly locked his eyes on the stranger's form, to see him more clearly. The small male's confidence was ever-full as he awoke. Standing up, hackles raised, tail held out and parallel to the ground and face emotionless, but looking almost menacing in the shadow of the tree, Lysander studied the black wolf with a keen intellect at his disposal.
Alert, but not seeming to be of any threat. Then again, what if he is playing a game? I'll just have to see. Healthy-seeming, and of course, like every other darned wolf alive, bigger than me. Rightfully suspicious in his own mind, the Ethiopian Wolf approached, trotting forward in an almost ridiculously casual manner. Keeping a yard or two of distance between them, Lysander narrowed his eyes as he finished inspecting the other wolf. Straightening up and standing as tall as he could without looking comical, the male held a serious, testy note in his voice, sounding as if he was suspicious of the other wolf, -"Nice way to disturb my sleep, bud, but we have another matter on hand. Do tell me, why do you come to the Eastern pack's territory? His ears faced forward and his eyes were narrowed, green slits of sinister carefulness, his tail was waving behind him at a moderate pace. While perhaps Thor was dead or gone, and Sira was probably busy with her pups, and the fact he was not even a Beta, probably didn't give him the authority to challenge this loner, or ask him his intentions, he was still a member of his Eastern pack. Plus, he wasn't bored now, to heck with Omega spot or banishment.
Better be a good darn reason...
