Sira. "Please watch the pack... I'm going away for a couple of days... Please don't send anyone to find me, unless I call for help... Thank you for everyone, safo. You're a treasured member of the pack..."
She knew it was time. And when she had suspected it that morning, she hid off before all others had awaken. It was the day are their move back into the forest, and boy she was happy. There was no way she was going to give birth in that cabin. Too many watching eyes. Once she found the spot she had been building for the last month, she nested inside and then was the waiting game.
For what seemed like hours for her, they finally made their way out. She had given birth to life of her own. Three puppies. She began to clean the, off as she marveled the accomplishment that her and Thor had made. Right now, he didn't care he was gone. She was happy they were finally here with her. As she ran her tongue over one, it didn't react like the other two. She pushed it her muzzle to try and stir it up. Once she had tried that for several minutes with no reaction, she hesitantly moved on to try again later.
Nursing time for the first time, and still no movement from her first pup. She had given up hope and turned her attention away. Of course she would have given birth to a stillborn. It was every mothers haunting. But she still had two healthy pups suckling from her stomach. She would just have to treat these two as if they were all three. Once done with nursing; and still no signs of life from the puppy, she curled up and slept from a job well done.
The next morning, she marveled her puppies as they squirmed with hunger. She glanced at them closely, they both looked like him. Their coats and their club tails. The only thing telling them apart was the gala eyes that her daughter had inherited from her. She nuzzled them with pride. A few more days alone with her puppies before she would make her way back. Or before some wolf would find her.
As the days passed, she felt ready to return. Although she would wait for night time to bring them into her den. She would be quick and brisk about. She couldn't risk loosing another puppy before she was completely settled back into her pack. Luckily for her, the move was easy. Now the only things left was the meeting in the morning of her return with some new additions.
As the sun began to rise she stood in front of her den to await the arrival of her pack members. She was anxious to introduce them.

Unable to sleep, the naama lifted his head and sighed. He had been roaming for a few weeks now, getting as far from the outlands as he could. He didn't think about staying in the area to find the particular uuma that had attacked his pack, his main concern was to grow and learn and get stronger. He could go back later. These thoughts were not articulated in that order in his head. He acted with the instinct to survive, and part of that was to grow and learn. Perhaps his wanderings would bring him that way again. Until then, he was more then content with looking for any kind of easy targer.
But first things first. A belly has to be kept full if one is to hope to keep their strength. Rising from his comfortable hidey hole, the loner stretched and yawned fangedly. With the moon at his back, he began to hunt.
Belly low the naama crouched. Slowly moving forward, he silently stalked his prey. The night still dominated and in the still darkness, the wolf hunted. Game was just ahead, and it was as simple as wrapping his fangs around it. He crept forward a little faster, getting over eager and anxious and that was when the rabbit woke up and bolted.
Leaping into the chase with an angered growl, he chased the rabbit as fast as his ungainly legs could take him. He was growing, but not fast enough, damn legs were still too dang short with really big paws, not a good combination. Still, he was able to dip and weave with the rabbit and hardly paying attention to anything else except the slight flash of a white tail in the moons low light.
The chase was short lived with the rabbit darting safely into its burrow leaving a panting, slightly hungry wolf to growl at its hole, pawing and digging. Angered at himself, the loner sighed and stepped away, looking again for something. With a few sniffs, his nose investigated another hiding spot, and quickly snapped up the darting rodent.
The sun was slowly rising. Lifting his head and licking his muzzle, some other scent reached him. Blinking, tilting his head, he lifted and scented the air. The unmistakable scent of another wolf tickled his senses. Narrowing his gaze, the loner silently stalked again, learning from his past mistake, there would be no over eagerness.
Staying upwind, the loner stopped and resisted the snarl bubbling in his throat. Here was one of those Unnaturals. Bristling, the loner layed down and watched. Movement at her feet drew his attention to the tiny pups scrabbling at the dens entrance. Narrowing his gaze, the Naama glared, and hesitated. attack sang in his mind, but so did wait. Conflicted and angry, wait he did, ducking under the covering of a large bush, his head slightly poking out as he looked from the Right side of the female, half crouched. Anger and hatred burned but so did a strong survival sense.

Sira. As she waited for her pack members to wake up and smell the scent of new puppies, something else had caught her attention. The smell of an unfamiliar wolf had caught her senses. Her fur bristled and her hackles raised. She could already feel the over protectiveness of being a mother. She had already lost one while giving birth. She was not going to loose another. "Oh, please. I dare you to show yourself..." a deep growl came from her throat. She turned around swiftly and nuzzled them to lay together and back into the den she had made.
She turned back around quickly. Not wanting to leave her back turned for long. Who knows what this wolf was capable of doing. She wasn't going to take chances. Her quilled spikes sat retracted in her spine, ready to come out. she hadn't used them in a while. She didnt need to. But now since her pups and herself were in danger, she didn't hesitate. Although, she would leave the, tucked away until she found out if this wolf was sincerely a threat.

Ears pricked as the wolf turned his direction. He blinked and sat up slightly, sniffing the wind. He had hoped he was out of her scent range or that the wind would keep his scent back. Clearly he still had a lot to learn about stalking. Glaring back at her as he watched her pups get ushered back inside, he crept out a step and bristled. His cover was blown, might as well do what he stayed for.
Baring his fangs, lips drawing back into the most vicious snarl he could manage, the loner stepped forward more. The hair of his hackles upon his neck were standing straight up, ears turned outwards but not all the way pressed. His tail was high, straight out behind him for leverage and balance. Every step was placed firmly as he boldly approached a few more feet.
At about twenty meters, his head dipped slightly, the growl quieting. The challenge had been made already. Turning his side to her he slowly circled around to come from a better angle where there was a gap in the trees. Still fully bristled and on high guard, the wolf gave another snarl just as he darted forward, keeping low to the ground.

Sira. It wasn't long before the strange wolf had responded to her. In fact, it showed itself to her. A young male. She growled deeply and her tail stood on end. She watched as he made his moves around her, studying her. He was finding a place to attack. There as no way she would put up this fight lightly. She as glad to be her normal self and not hormonal from pregnancy. The wolf had finally decided to make his move. It was a rather easy one to follow.
She crouched low and held her ground. She dared to not move from her position, it was in front of her den; where her puppies were laying. His starter move may be simple. But she didn't take the chance of him faking her out and going for her offspring. She awaited the impact moment. She had hoped that she could refrain her quills until the time was needed. But since she had not used them in quiet some time, they released on their own.
Five rows of quill like spikes released from her back and spine. The tore out of skin until they reached the top of her tail. Her eyes turned a crimson red of frustration. The closer the stranger got, the angrier she got and the more anxious she was to shove her quills into the strange wolf.

Staring at Sira as he charged, he watched her every movement. He had already killed one Uuma in the past. He felt confidnet he could do it again. As he got within fifteen feet, his jaws widened and he was preparing to close the gap with a quickening pace.
Watching the quills leap up in that instant, the loner halted his charge with a startled yelp, easily within striking distance of her. He quickly changed course to the left, digging his feet in to stop his forward motion and make it the other direction. He was not about to just impale himself. Stepping back from her to about 10 feet, the wolf planted his footing and dropped again, growling angrily at her. He would see if he could get her to come at him. Otherwise, he would keep harrassing her.

The alpha female had been gone for a few days, and it had been obvious to everyone she had her pups. This was extra exciting to Lakota, who acted like a pup herself. She secretly prayed that Sira might ask her to watch them while she did her leadership duties, but this was doubtful. Lakota was not capable of being an adult and protective authority to them, she would play more of a friend figure in their life.
She pranced through the woods now, excited to meet them. The smell of pups had drifted through the territory, and now the pups could finally meet their pack. Lakota wanted to be sure to be first and get some time before the rest of the pack smothered them.
A strange smell hit her, unfamiliar wolf. This didnt bother her at first, but then she realized is was of an adult male, not pups. Worried, the black female darted through the undergrowth, and caught sight of the scene, a naama taunting her alphess, probably trying to get her away from her pups. Well he miscalculated, the equation had a new variable. The black bundle of energy torpedoed into the naamas flank, rather recklessly charging into a fight.

Sira. As she waited for the wolf to venture on closer towards her, she smiled when he had decided otherwise. As soon as her spikes released, the wolf halted and turned around. He wasn't as dumb as he seemed. He tried to taunt her from a distance, but there was no way she would give up her spot. It was too precious and valuable for her to loose. She basically felt backed into a corner.
As quickly as the first started, another wolf crashed through to join the fight. She smiled, she was glad she had loyal members to help. And that one just so happen to be passing by so early in the morning. Lakota and thrown herself into the fight to help protect her. Thank goodness, she was still lightly exhausted from taking care of the puppies.

The glare with which the naama had fixed on the female spoke unsaid volumes about his hatred and anger. Here before him was one of those hateful unnaturals who had eradicated his pack. And just his luck, not only was he after her, but her unnatural pups too. Why let more of them grow up to be a further danger to him? He refused to break eye contact with her. He bared his fangs at her, and taunted her by stepping forward, then backing, moving to the left and right slightly, daring her to come forward. He would charge several steps, snapping his fangs at her, only to dance back again. Never did his eyes leave hers.
So fixated was he upon this despised other, that he took no notice of the rapidly approaching other. As she careened into him, he yelped with startled fright and pain, rolling several times before catching his footing and snarling, turning to face off with this new arrival. Panting with his rage, his glare swept between Lakota and Sira. In the back of his mind the wolf recognized Sira to remain there, so his attention refocused on the new one. As long as Sira would stay over there, he could square off with this new one. No time was wasted in this either.
No sooner had his feet regained the ground, his glance to Sira complete, then he was rushing on the new wolf, glistening fangs bared wide. He reared onto his hind legs, and swiped first the left paw, then the right like clawed punches at her face. He wanted her to go for one of his paws because he immediately followed his downward plunge with snapping fangs to her face. There was no way he was about to back down yet.

The naama was a very odd fighter, somewhat amusing to Lakota, from whoms lips departed a laugh that didn't break even when the pain came of the other wolf double paw slamming her face.
She took advantage of the moment, attacking before the naama could fall back on four paws. She pushed off the ground with her hind legs, sending herself into the reared up opposing wolf again.
She bared her wet poisonous ivory white fangs at the wolf as she leaped and pushed into him, releasing a snarl from her throat. Her blazing blue eyes stared him down without looking away. Snarling and glaring, it would be best if the wolf leave now. She snapped her black jaws several times, threatening to let her poison fill his veins with a bite.

It hadn't been easy keeping an eye on the pack while worrying about Sira and pondering the fate of Thor, but she had managed it and at last it was time for the alphess to be reunited with the others. Safo had taken longer than the others to reach their destination: her injured leg was giving her more trouble than normal. Still, she was able to limp along, and eventually came within sight of the wolves.
Her body then tensed. Something wasn't right.
As she approached, she noticed an unfamiliar wolf. A hostile unfamiliar wolf. Her fur bristled, but she knew she'd be no good in a fight now. Instead, she made her way to the pack's newest additions. She could at least help protect them if the stranger came too close.

Sira. The tired Alphess grinned as the Naama had turned his attention towards Lakota. She was grateful for this turn of events. Although, she wouldn't let her guard down. Not one bit. She wanted to join into the fight, but felt useless protecting her pups. Then safo came in sight and positioned herself next to her. "Safo! I'm so glad to see you..." she died in distress.
She wanted to reposition herself into the fight. But she didn't want to move her paws. It's like some wolf had glued her to the position. She knew her puppies would be safe behind safo. But she didn't trust any wolf. Not yet, it seemed to soon. "Please stand guard..." it was either let Lakota fight all on her own and possibly injure herself. Or let safo watch her puppies while she attacked as well. And quiet frankly, she wanted this Naama out of her territory. Option two seemed like the more leadership roll.
She crouched low to the ground, the off she went. It was a novice move, but it could still be effective. Watching out for Lakota, she ran up quickly to try and release some loose quills into his side. It was a difficult move at times, but now seemed like a perfect time to try it. As she approached close, she lowered her self once more into a crouched run. She could feel the looser and older quills ready to release themselves from her. "Lakota, fall back!" she demanded. And without a second warning she shot them out. About twenty to thirty sharp spikes detached from her spine. She felt a powerful rush of adrenaline travel down to the tip of her tail.
She had been facing the whole side of the Naama, and that is where the majority of her quills should go. She only hoped that Lakota got away in time before they impaled her too. It wouldn't be enough to kill the wolf, but severely injure and to hopefully get the point across for him to leave.

With only two feet on the ground, the Naama met the larger wolf and was sent tumbling onto his back, her snarling fangs inches from his face. He met her glare for glare, growl for growl, leaning upward to snap at her muzzle again, paws shoving at her.
His ears twitched, one turning towards Sira as she barked the order at Lakota. Somewhat surprised as she left, he was even more surprised when he turned his head to face the charging Sira, still stuck on his back. His head tucked sideways just in time to duck the speeding spines, most of them sinking into his side, a couple grazing over his belly leaving nice scratches, and the rest burying into the space around him.
The air filled with the wolf's agonized cry of pain, rolling to his left so his back was presented to sira, and strugging to gain his feet again. His tail was instantly curled up, his head staying down as he limped a few steps side ways. Backing up, it was all he could do to remain upright. The rows of spikes had hit shoulders and haunches, and across his whole side. Every step was terrible. He looked up at her, completely expecting the finishing attack, every breath a whimper.

Sira. The corners of her mouth turned into an accomplished grin. The Naama wolf had definitely been affected by this attack. She watched as he struggled to regain his footing. He stood there, watching her intently. The next move was up to her. It was her decision to have the wolf die on her land, or suffer his injuries on his further travels. She stepped closer, her body stance high. He was already weak as it is. The quills practically immobilized most of his balance. She reared onto her hind paws and came back down with her front paws pushing him back on the ground. She then placed one paw with a good amount of pressure on his throat.
This would make him stay in the ground, it was enough for her to make her point. "You come on my land one more time. You will be killed on sight. You pathetic Naama..." she snarled and snapped her jaws in front of his face. Her eyes returned to their usual lavender color, the feeling of irritation being returned with triumph. "As soon as I step off. You better run and you better not look back..." a deep growl followed.
Coming from the pack life she once lived, she could have easily killed him. But also coming from that pack life, she had more respect for her kind than to kill them like they were nothing. Every wolf deserves a chance, wether she liked it or not. She pressed her paw down harder, "get out..." she jumped back and ran back to safo. Standing guard in front of her newborns. She hoped the Naama would take wise to her word. And he better do it, quickly. Or else her mind was certain to change.

Wincing as she reared, his ears flattened, but no growl or attempt to get away was made. Instead, he allowed himself to be pushed back down onto his left, tucking his head slightly as her paw came down. His whimpering quieted slightly as breathing became a little difficult, ears twitching slightly as she spoke again. He couldn't understand her, but the point was clear enough. He flinched slightly, getting a perfectly clear view of a mouthful of fangs inches from his face from her snaps.
As soon as she had departed, the Naama was struggling to his feet again, trying to silence any sounds so he could leave with some sort of dignity left. He didn't tuck tail, but did keep his head down, moving as quick as his half paralized limbs would allow toward the safety of the trees, not looking back.
