The huge black mass confidently moved through the forest. He no longer tried to even be subtle, letting his paws crunch loudly on leaves and twigs. It was no fun to break borderlines if there was no chance of getting caught. And the rate this pack seemed to patrol their borders, it would be weeks before they caught Devon slinking about. This would get the process moving a lot faster.
He continued his stroll, his head raised proud like he owned the place, and his ears pricked for when the pack finally realized he was here. He parted his jaws, scenting the air. Nothing yet. Well this is boring. He sniffled, and looked around. He should probably know how to get out of here once he was bored toying with them.

| Surely the intruder was not dumb. It was most likely from either ignorance, a wish to join, or the pack's lack of marking the borders as thoroughly as they should have been. And she was not happy with herself, as Alphess of the Western pack she should have been marking every single day. Every single darn day. Then again she was dealing with other matters as well. The crimson eyed Renaissance head was slung low, as if in a stalking position, and for once her saber-teeth showed clearly out of jowls, not even an attempt to hide them. The she-wolf had been collected, by stressed just a bit by the winter and the feeling in the air. The Empath noted with a slight disdain that they would also need to hunt soon, to refresh the stock. As she went to meet the intruder, she sniffed the air again. A small shiver went down the spine of the white-coated wolf. not of fear, or any particular emotion. The raw power of the smell was evident, it was a large male, she could tell.
Well, here we are. With a humorless expression, the female's golden heart bracelets jingled as her paws crunched the passed autumn's fallen leaves. The scent was stronger now and she could now hear the loud crunch of other paws in the forest. She braced herself and the Empath decided a sneak peak was never a bad thing. Using her empathy, she could get a distinct smug feeling in the air. At least confident and not anxious in the least. she did not show any notable response to this. She saw the male now and stopped walking. The wind rustled her fur a bit as she spoke, her red eyes serious, -"And what is your reason for being here? No use dodging the obvious.

Devon glanced at the white female, looking her over a few times. Not bad. "What is your reason for being here?" he shot back with an equal coolness in his voice. The markings werent done too well, so the territory was hardly claimed, in his opinion. He figured he had some equal grounds. Anyway, if his charm couldnt seduce her, then he could easily fight his way out.
His eyes lightened a bit and he cast her a smile.

| Renaissance raised an imaginary eyebrow, red eyes glinting. The huge male definitely had some spunk, she had to give him that. Her ears pricked up, alert, at the cool retort given. Renaissance was inclined to take that as a challenge to the pack, to her authority, to her, personally. Plus she wasn't sure she was liking the way the loner had looked her over. However, while she was strong and hardy, especially for a female, she could see the male was heavily built, the muscles rippling under the male's skin. Standing her ground, white fur smooth, but hacked raised high, her tail held parallel to the ground and ears up and slanting forward, the fanged female was obviously not fooled or charmed.
This is not looking good... Asserting herself, with the honor she held so dearly, she responded to the smiling wolf, -"What am I doing here? I am Alphess of the Western pack, and while that may not mean much to you, I certainly do have a right to be standing on this soil, unlike you," She didn't care if the borders were not thoroughly marked or not. They were marked, even if faintly, and that was what mattered. It showed the land occupied, obviously. When she actually too the time to smell the air around the other wolf, she was dismayed. It seemed the wolf was one of the Northern rebels. She knew that a packmate could be only a heartbeat away, and her howl was very distinctive, considering her other abilities. Even if that howl was a howl of pain, in the face of teeth rushing at her.
Well, boy, let's see how you take it.

The charcoal colored male considered this for a moment. Devon let out a soft hmmmmm, his dark tail thumping on the ground and making the leaves crunch.
"Can I be 'Alphess of the Western Pack' too, then?" he replied, asking his honest request in a pleasant tone. He cocked his head left, smiling again, his hazel gaze never wavering from the white pack wolfs face.
The female was probably going to call her pack soon, as that would be the smartest gamble in this situation. He knew he would have to be quick about getting his funnies, even though long drawn out conversations were always a lot more interesting.

| The male's words were fool's words. While deciding to assume the male was just messing with her, she couldn't help feel the black wolf was well... she didn't know. Creativity was the crimson-eyed wolf's strong suit. Sighing, eyes closing for a moment, she decided to entertain the male some by answering. "I'm afraid not, my boy," - she spoke in an almost disapproving tone. Her eyes flashed, careful if the male decided to suddenly become violent. Her blood-thirsty father had a thing for moodiness when she was still around, and she was used to sudden changes in emotions. Her empathy was a good help as well for that. Though she knew a headache would come on later from use. But was a headache really worth it over this?
Shake those thoughts, you have a duty to do, take him seriously, even if he don't take you seriously. She nearly snorted at the thought. Her pride was almost clouding her judgement. She decided the next response form the male would elicit a howl from her to a packmate, but for now she kept silent. For now.
