XANE[/font] && ZAFERA[/b][/color][/size][/font] He sat at the shore of the lake in the valley. It was defiantly getting colder, thank goodness his coat had grown in. As soon as he made his call, it would be the official meeting of his most recent decision. The decision to make renaissance the Alphess of the pack. His expression as of this moment was emotionless. Staring out onto the lake, he simply thought of the one that got away. He knew she would never return, as he hadn't seen her this far from their departure. Maybe this change will be the one he need to move on from her. But only time will tell. At least he had put in much thought to this. Of course with the arrival of zafera, it was temporarily pushed back more than he had hoped. He nodded and turned around to make his way to the edge of the forest. The meeting would be held there, all wolves would be able to attend. Or at least they better...
She sat and waited at the edge of the forest. Waiting for his arrival. She had noticed his mind had been elsewhere the past few weeks. And hopefully, she would figure out why. Ever since kassander had disappeared, she soley depended on xane; even moreso than her arrival. She dipped behind some bushes as she saw him coming closer. Of course he had already scented her. "Zafera... Come out, now..." he simple spoke out. She smiled and belly crawled from under the bushes. "Hello, xane..." she grinned. "What did I tell you about sneaking up?" he scolded. She ground and glared at the ground, "what are you talking about, you haven't even been around! You haven't even been helping me with my powers the past few weeks!" she barked in frustration and stood up from the bushes. Her ears flicked back, "what's been uo with you anyway!" she growled. When she finished, he smiled at his little adopted daughter. "You will find out tonight... As with everyone else... I am sorry for not being around, I've been contemplating a lot..." he licked the top of her head. Then as if the argument never happen, she stood up and wagged her tail. "Okay xane!" she barked.
He shook his head once more, now since that took some time out from his thinking process, he had to get back on track. "Now sit down my dear..." she sat down as he said. He positioned himself to take in a deep inhale for a long howl. Then, as if something wanted him to get his point across a gust of winter wind blew as he howled out into the evening sky. As if it wanted to carry his call throughout his whole territory. When he finished he ran up and sat on his perching rock. Zafera sat at the bottom, more mesmerized by his rather graceful howl. He hoped renniasance was getting ready at this point, after all, she would be appointed a the first Alphess of the western territory.

| Shaking her now thick white winter coat, the female stepped out from her burrow, into the numbingly cold air. She sighed softly in remembrance, it was not as cold as the high Arctic, but this still made her more than remind herself of her family back home. And was she ever glad to be here, and not with her father. Ever since she and Xane had spoken on the last day of fall on her position in the pack, he and her had been planning a gathering of the pack. A State Of The Pack type thing, as to announce that she was now Alphess of the Western Pack. Renaissance was a practical wolf who enjoyed taking charge perhaps, but never did she covet power. The pack's wellbeing would be the most obvious thing to take care of. Sometimes she wondered why she had been chosen, and she still felt honored by even the suggestion.
It was rather unexpected to.
Having already groomed her coat well and her bracelets as well, the noon sun gleamed brightly through to the Empath's slicked back, white fur and gold bracelets of hearts. Her bright crimson eyes spied the half-frozen lake where Xane... and it appeared where Zafera was as well. She smiled gently, she had warmed up quite considerably to the small pup. Perhaps she'd play with the pup afterwards if she wanted. She still admired the incredibly close daughter-father bond Xane and Zafera had. She had had a horrible relationship with her own father, and hoped Xane and Zafera's never to be disturbed. Walking across smoothed stones and pebbles, Renaissance bellowed aloud, -"Good day, is it not, Xane, Zafera? I do hope the rest of the pack is ready soon," She allowed a small, calm smile to rest on her face, and her ivory, dagger-like saber-fangs were not concealed today and reached through until just below her jaws today. She took a place sitting a few feet behind Xane to the right, in clear view to any gathering wolves.
Today begins a new era, you can feel it in the air.

Step by step. Breath by breath. Head down, ears back, muscles tense and swollen.
That was the manner in which Elanora made her tedious way through the forest. Last week’s fight with the two-headed beast had left her body ravaged – her ripped ear had healed nicely, but the punctures in her neck had failed to improve. In fact, they had begun to fester, and now the skin beneath that black-and-blue fur was red, painful, and inflamed. Two days ago pus had started to leak from the wounds, and there was no way for Elanora to clean them herself.
Yet Elanora suffered through the pain which ran like sour poison through her blood, and never once did she complain. Quietly she moved forward, following her alpha’s call. Xane had seen her injuries, but he had been so distracted lately… Sometimes she wished he had a more vengeful streak; she wouldn’t mind seeing her attacker pay a fair price for her deeds. Still, Elanora carried on without protest, for there was naught that she could do.
Passing through the edge of the trees, Elanora spotted Xane and Renaissance, with little Zafera by them. Silently she made her way to the alpha’s side, casting him a small glance before easing down onto the ground.

Vesperi had been almost at the other end of th territory when she heard the howl, and it took her a moment to recognize it for what it was. She had been attempting - without success - to locate prey. Hunting in winter wasn't normally a problem for her, but the unfamiliar territory brought forth a challenge for her, as she had yet to learn the favorite nesting places of the various types of prey to be found here. For that matter, she had yet to learn the various types of prey to be found here.
Once she realized she and the rest of the pack were being summoned, she ran toward the sound, leaping into the air once she was clear of the trees. As she reached the height of her jump, she began to change: fur gave way to feathers and scaly hind legs and front legs shifted into a powerful pair of wings which carried her higher into the sky as the rest of her body followed suit. As she rose above the treetops, the transformation completed, and Vesperi-the-snowy-owl flew to where the other wolves in the pack were gathering.
It wasn't long before she saw the gathering wolves below her. She glided slowly down toward them, resuming her wolf shape when she was but a few feet above the group and landing gracefully in the snow next to Elanora. She then bowed to the alpha and sat down, waiting for the meeting to begin.
