Thor sat in the snow, his wings outstretched like a leathery umbrella. They caught the large puffs of white that drifted down from a cloudy sky. His pack huddled around him, braving the wind and the cold, together. On his left sat dear Sira, whose pregnancy was just barely beginning to show. On his right was Safo, the crippled but undeniably loyal beta. The rest came together in a haphazard circle, trying to keep their heads under the protection of his wings. It was a scene that belonged in a painting, beautiful as it was.
This place had changed much since the black she-wolf had granted it to him in exchange for peace. The bare hill was covered in snow, as was the shabby cabin that perched on its top. Now he had his pack-mates with him, and not without reason. The cabin, although it stood at the very edge of eastern territory, would be their home-base throughout the worst of the winter.
And that is what he had told his companions as they huddled together in the middle of the empty hill-side. Speaking loudly, so as to be heard over the wind, he said, "Before winter hits us head-on, we'll set up quarters in this here shack." Thor motioned toward it with his muzzle. "I'm going to need wolves with skilled paws for cleaning and fortifying the cabin, as well as wolves with sharp senses, to patrol and keep watch. Any takers?" The alpha's steady gaze rested briefly on each of the listeners.
Today had been thoroughly planned, and Sira was in agreement: the pack would be organized into a well-oiled machine, and after working through the final hours of the day there would be rest and time for bonding. If all agreed, they would then finish the day with a deer hunt. And if all went well, they would sing a song of victory and fall asleep in the little shack with full bellies and warm toes.

Lakota&Hint
Lakotas blue eyes glimmered in the idea that she could openly help the pack. Patrol, or fortify the cabin. Skill paws or strong senses? She would have to rate herself, and there was no way to be modest here. She would probably be best in the cabin, cleaning it out. She took a small step forward. "I'll work in the cabin," she volunteered, not looking her alpha in the eye. She took a step back and sat down, a bit uncomfortable being the first to volunteer.
Hints yellow eyes followed the black females form step forward, and then step back. She twitched her ears, deciding what to do. Stay in a cabin and clear out junk and make walls, or patrol. She couldnt see herself even able to reach that high to clear stuff out, although she was pretty coordinated. But she had pretty good hearing and could detect wolves. She also memorized land pretty quickly, so she could catch on to the borders well. But still, she would wait and see. If needed, she would help in the cabin.

Safo had, of course, been among the wolves Thor had taken to the cabin. Personally, she was hesitant to use the rather flimsy-looking structure, but she had to admit it did have potential and was better protection from the elements than most places.
Thor explained what he wanted done and asked for volunteers. She thought over her options. She had a bad leg, and that would hamper her duties no matter which she volunteered for. She would be slow for patrols and she would likely struggle in the cabin. Patrols were important, and they would be expected to rush to the pack's aid. Now that she thought it over, there was really only one choice for her. At least the cabin didn't require so much speed.
She bowed to her alpha. "I can work in the cabins as well."

She sat next to him, shifting her weight from side to side. Who would've guessed that pregnancy was so uncomfortable? Since the recent addition to their territory, the two had decided thecabin would be a perfect place for winter time. It did need some cleaning up, which is why he had called the meeting. She sat patiently as the meeting progressed on, waiting for any wolf to speak up. In the mean time she didn't want to be completely useless, "I'll help clean uo the cabin, would anyone feel free to join me?"
Cierra and Dax sat next to each other. Word of new territory got out, and now they were finally able to see where and what it was. Turns out it was just a cabin, but since winter was here and shelter was needed, this cabin would suit perfect for them. His ears perked up when he spoke of any wolf that had abilities to keep watch of the territory. "I'll be happy to help watch out, Thor... My hearing could come in handy for any sneak ups..." he stepped forward being more than happy t lend his ears to his leader. Cierra smiled and wagged her tail, since he was going out she decided to stay in. "I will help clean the place up as well!" she nodded. Hoping he would be okay with that. She figured it would be okay, seeing as Sira didnt disagree.

Every single one of them voted to stay inside, away from the snow.
Personally, he didn't mind. he enjoed the snow, the way it fell upon his coat, how he sunk into it. "I suppose..." he began, slowly, deep voice rumbling in his chest. "I will help with patroling." Though he seemed to not have any powers, he was undeniably huge, and any wolf of any pack would at least be intimidated by that.
He stepped forward, and nodded his muzzle carefully to Thor. He'd heard of the dreaded Moonrunner, who's scent still clouded the cabin within, and the surrounding lands. "I will be pleased to do it."
According to what one of his other packmates said, (rumored, of course, as he hadn't heard it from Thor himself,) the rebellious pack would not be attacking them any time soon. Moonrunner had supposedly made a peace agreement with Thor- good thing too, but he felt wary of Brock.
Oh yes, he heard about that.
He could see it coming- like a runaway freight train on icy tracks. He just hadn't seen the scrawny yellow dog that was supposedly her lackey. He imagined seeing him on the ground, neck between his jaws.
"What happens," he added, slowly. "If the Northern pack enters our territory unannounced? Do we destroy them? Or take them here?"

Hint chuckled at the males use of the word 'destroy'. Wasn't really a word she would use to describe getting wolves off her territory.
She sat up a bit, so every wolf could see her. "I'll patrol," she offered. She was surprised so many wolves wanted to work in the cabin, scouting out new land seemed much more interesting to her. She let her leopard spotted body fall back into its relaxed slouch, and resumed her eyes on Thor. She patiently waited for another voice to rise over the wind. A few more members would have to join her in patrolling.

Lakota was the first one to volunteer, shyly opting to work in the cabin. As each member said their piece, Thor tallied up the results in his head. Lakota, Safo, Cierra and Sira (gosh, so many ‘s’ sounds!) would see to making the cabin hospitable, while Dax, Hep, Hint, and of course himself would take care of the boundary business. The numbers were good, but there was a question in the ranks. ”Destroy them? Or take them here?” Hep’s words bounced around in Thor’s brain. Of course he had thought about this very valid question already, but he hadn’t anticipated having to spell it out to any of this pack-mates. Nonetheless, it would be better to state the rules now than to regret their misdoings later on.
After clearing his throat, Thor spoke, his gaze meeting Hep’s. “Neither,” he stated. “Killing them will get us all in trouble, and giving them a tour seems far too friendly.” He chuckled. “Alert your pack-mates first if you can, and then give the trespasser a beating. After that it shouldn’t be too hard to get them to leave.”
Now turning his full attention to the entire company, Thor raised his voice again. “Alright. Safo and Sira, you’ll see to it that the other girls get their work done. I’ll lead the rest around the territory’s edge, let ‘em get a feel for the area.” The alpha now stood, his wings getting caught up in the blustering wind. With some effort he reigned them in and folded them, while jerking the snow off of his tail. After giving a nod to all present, Thor started off down the left side of the hill.

Safo listened as the others chose their duty. Sheesh...if she had known so many of them would pick the cabin, she would have risked the patrol...but then she would have been a liability, so she supposed it was for the best.
Thor spoke, formally giving the wolves their tasks. She bowed to him and then to the alphess. "I think I"ll head on in and see what needs done." She probably should have asked permission, but Sira's condition meant they would have to see to it she rested through this. Right now, Sira was the most important wolf in the pack. She had to be kept as healthy as possible so her pups would stay healthy.
Her gaze drifted to Lakota. "Would you mind escorting Sira into the cabin?" She then turned to Cierra. "Stay with them, if you would. I'm sorry, Sira, but you must remain protected right now. Surely you agree. I know Thor does." She cast the alphess a sheepish smile. "See you guys in a moment!" She limped/ran toward the cabin, shaking as much snow from her pelt as she could before heading inside and looking around. It was...well...they would have their work cut out for them. Bits of wood and metal scattered on the floor near the walls, some of the boards looked rotted, there were gaps in the walls...they could bury the debris somewhere if they found no other use or it and mud should be sufficient to close up the gaps...maybe even some of the debris would work, and they'd have less useless material to deal with.

Behind him Thor heard Safo jumping up, and immediately handed out orders. Thor turned to give her a nod of respectful recognition as she leapt off, eager to do her work.
It seemed, however, that the rest were slow to get going. "C'mon, get your butts a-movin'!" he barked, slamming his clubbed tail into the snow. The result was a spray of white and a riled Thor, who was eager to be off with his pack-mates. He had not been alone with those three in a lone while, and to be honest he was eager to be away from Sira's side for a moment. She was a nice alphess for sure, but a tad moody for his liking, pregnant as she was.
And besides that, they had a job to do. Thor wanted to get all of the boundaries marked within good time and minimal fuss, so that they could end the day with a grand hunt and festivity. Winter was cruel indeed, but Thor was determined to have his pack stand strong and proud amongst the snow and cold.
And so with an impatient glare Thor urged his pack-mates on, as the wind battered his thick winter fur.

Hephaestus turned his muzzle into the wind, his eyes closing slightly against the brutal winds. He liked it well enough, but the cabin was placed on the top of a hill- good for seeing everything around, bad if winds managed to creep through the cracks.
The smell of a wolf rose in the wind, but it was old, and layered above that was the same scent, only layered upon the old. His jaws drew back at the edge of the forest- something about it seemed sinister, and dark.
He detested that.
From within the confines of the trees, a single female stepped forward- large, with black wings. She seemed unfazed by the blistering cold. "Thor!" she called, the hint of a smirk in her voice. "How have you been settling in?"
(O: MOONRUNNER! She's just makin sure he marks only where he's supposed to mark. :3)
