| Fairly wet from swimming against a slightly steep current in the river, Renaissance sat grooming herself under a tree, not liking how her fur stuck out all over the place after exiting the river. After a few minutes, her fur was drying rapidly in the clear fall evening and it was all in place, just to her liking. Yawning, Renaissance lifted herself to her paws and shook herself. Fall was in actuality her favorite season now, where she had lived before it was primarily cold, cold, cold. Than a quick three month snow melt time they called summer. When she had arrived here and joined the Western pack, summer had taken on a whole new meaning for her. It was hot and dreary, making her fur frizz and giving the arctic native quite a few bouts of heat exhaustion. It was not fun. Renaissance simply frowned, her distinct crimson eyes flashing with something easily identified as annoyance and slight ludicrousness. Fall turned into a different story, easily. The temperature was warm enough not to be uncomfortable and mild enough not to scorch her and her pack mates to death. And the incredible display of the fall leaves gave a beauty to the land.
Summer was death, Fall is heaven. Listening to the dying echoes of the day birds, and to the rising of the night birds, Renaissance sighed softly, resting on a pile of soft grass and dirt. She had an oddly family like affection for most of the pack, however distant they were and it was not as foreign as Renaissance had thought it once. If one were to find her here now, it could possibly be a crime to interrupt he peaceful thoughts. She did not get it very often, between serving her pack and sleeping and eating. And if it were available, she'd take it more often. She was content and had no complaints, for now. But she also knew that albeit now was a good time, things could change at the turn of a dime.
Peace and harmony alone, the hectic life of a wolf quelled for a silent moment...

I know she is out there. It was days like these he loved the most. Most pack duties were taken care of in advance. Finally a free day from the responsibilities of pack leader. He was harping the she wolves back at home would keep and eye on zafera. She always got into trouble. He sighed with a slight smile as he padded through the forest. He enjoyed having her around, it made him feel more at home knowing they came from the same pack. Well relations from the same pack. But man was she a trouble magnet. But he still loved her as she was his own.
He made his way through the forest, marveling the color changes of the fall season. For the last few days the pack had stayed relatively close to to the center of the forest. So finding a scent out here is a little off from the usual pack activity. His head perked up when he picked up a scent. He didn't worry, seeing as it was one of his pack mates. He loved all his pack mates. The end of his tail wagged. He out his nose to the ground as he began to search for her. He pushed aside bushes when he found her, "Good afternoon, renniasance" he smiled at her. She was fairly new, but not new enough to be considered new. If that makes any sense. But my pack comes first, even if it hurts.

| Nearly asleep was Renaissance and the sun closing down so the moon could take the night shift was when she heard the now familiar voice. Rustling from her peaceful state, the she-wolf lifted her head and opened her scarlet eyes that could easily be seen in the near night-time darkness. She saw Xane, the alpha, smiling at her a few feet to yards from her. "And wonderful evening to you, Xane. What are you doing here? Resting for a little while?" - She greeted and asked casually, friendly. She had been a little rough on her relations with her packmates for a week or so after she had joined due to her not having been around wolves for a while since she left her home. It did not help she had developed a necessary suspicion to survive in her home pack. But she had gotten passed it.
And how good it was when I did.

I know she is out there. He smiled at her, hoping he didn't ruin anything beforemhis arrival. "I hope I didn't interrupt anything..." he lowered his head in apology if he had. He walked through the bushes and sat next to her. He looked towards the horizon to watch the sun set. Nothing like a fall sun set to bring an end to a peaceful day. "So what were you up to today? he glanced down at some wet patches on her fur. He held in his laugh, seeing as she didn't answer yet. "It was a rather peaceful after noon in the pack if you ask me..." he voice was low. Almost liked it matched the season around them. Calm and peaceful. But my pack comes first, even if it hurts.

| She couldn't help but feel slightly bemused at Xane's implied apology of possible interruption. He was the alpha, was he not? He need not explain himself to her. But then again, knowing the wolf at all gave her the idea of why. Than he asked her of what her day had been. She responded, earnestly, -"I decided to take a swim today, as you can see my fur had not completely dried as I hoped yet," She added her last note as she watched the wolf eye her coat, which was still slightly damp. Her excursion was long one, apparently. Than Xane went on to offer his thoughts on the relatively nice afternoon the pack had enjoyed. She had to agree immensely, or else she herself would not be resting. She was not on to slack or laze around. Renaissance added her own words, -"Indeed it was. A nice change from the hustle bustle life of hunt, play, socialize, and watch crazy pups," She added the last thing in her small list with a fanged smile and perhaps a wink if you were quick enough to catch it. Zafera was not hard to forget, and the pup was often both a source of amusement and sometimes slight frustration. Plus it was just plain adorable to see the obvious father-daughter type relationship between Xane and Zafera, even if technically Xane wasn't her actual father.
And satisfying I imagine such an affection would be!

I know she is out there. He smiled and shook his head towards the ground. That zafera was always up to no good. But yet, he still loved her as if she were his own. And he knew she loved him for that reason, too. "Speaking of trouble making pups, I think she ran off to explore again..." he grumbled and his ears laid flat for a couple seconds. The time it took to find that pup was always enough to have him do something productive in the pack. Sooner or later he would just have to hope she came back, but even the thought of that sent a chill up his spine.
He shook his head to rid the thoughts of possibilities. He looked up at the sky and wondered if she would be looking too. It's been so long tong to him since they last saw each other. He didn't know where she was or who she was with. But the thought of of their good bye always made him wonder if it was really good bye. Of course he had wished it was more of a see you later, but with how much time has gone by he doubted that, now. It was strange, running a pack alone. He didn't mind it, is was just that he had planned for Sira to return to him in the future. But who knows, with othermpacks out there, they could have already gotten to her first. He realized renaissance was still sitting there, so he decided to change the topic up to avoid a therapy session. Although he maybe could use one. "Can you believe summer is over already?" he awkwardly chuckled. But my pack comes first, even if it hurts.

| Sooner or later a reply was heard, a grumbly one at that. She almost chuckled from the amusement, knowing Xane was thinking about little Zafera. In her own heart and mind she knew that the pup was capable of taking care of herself for a bit of time, dispelling the need for worry. Still, she understood Xane's point of view well. She could not recount the number of times she had had a headache from the pup, but it was still in good-nature for her. Than Xane shook his head and looked to the sky, setting sun and all, thinking obviously. Renaissance cocked her head in curiosity, deciding to want a secret peek with her Empathy, even if it was rather rude. Her Empathy did not reveal what she liked, she sensed an uncertainty from him, perhaps worry, but not quite. She quelled the slight concern in her crimson eyes as Xane changed the subject. She swore never to look with her empathy again if she could help it, and she worried herself Xane was hiding something, but did not bring up a single mention of it. Not even a hint. She simply smiled and responded impeccably, -"It is rather surprising, isn't it? I prefer fall much better though, however one must take notice that fall will soon bring snow, signaling the season of cold, winter,"
And winter will simply be another summer, except the opposite of it...

I know she is out there. He nodded and smiled. He didn't know much about rennissance, but the words she did say to him made him smile and think in a way. He turned his attention to her, "rennisance, I'd you were a pack leader, what would you do different in a pack?" he looked at her with curiosity. He was in need of an Alphess. It was tough running a pack alone. But he needed jet that, an Alphess, not a mate. He wondered if all packs had an alpha and Alphess as mates. He waited patiently for her to respond.

| To be honest with herself, Renaissance wasn't expecting that. Avoiding the typical double take gesture usually associated with shock, Renaissance simply drifted off into a reflective, thoughtful state. Her eyes drifted towards the sky, and her face portrayed a wolf in deep thought. There was a silence, but not an awkward one before she finally answered decidedly. Still a little surprised by the question and taking it quite seriously, she answered strongly, -"If I were to lead a pack... and perhaps it's fate..., Now looking at Xane with serious red eyes, she continued, -"I would be fair and treat my familiars with the same respect they treated me. And... sometimes you put your own personal desires and needs aside for others, and that would be what I would do. To be entrusted with the respect and trust of another is far more than enough to warrant self sacrifice,"

He humbly listened to her response. And he was rather please with what she had to say. He wondered if he should act upon his actions. After all, she may be a new wolf in the pack, but he saw much potential in her. Maybe no one else could see it, but he knew it was there. "Renniasance, if given the opportunity to take on an Alphess position, would you take it?" he hoped what he just said wouldn't put her hopes up high. Although he was curious as to what she had to say.
With the time he has spent in his pack he has gotten to know his pack mates well. And although the Alphess position was still open to anyone he desired to give it to. It couldn't fall into the wrong paws. There was something hiding under her fur which made him feel she would be perfect for the position. And maybe the next words that came out of his mouth would seal the deal. "How about this..." he smiled and turned his head to her. "Would you like to lead the western pack with me?" he wondered what was going though her mind. "I have examined and have gotten to know everyone in the pack. And I fell you fit the spot best. Of course, this is for leadership reasons, not because I would like to mate with you" his ears folded back. Maybe the last bit was unnesecary. "Well, at least not right this moment..." he chuckled. Then he stopped, waiting for her mind to stop proccessing.
[[ooc;; I'm sorry it took so long. D: I decided to stop dragging it out. Besides, I want renn. to take that open position x) ]]

| Xane could not keep surprising the she-wolf today. Genuinely unable to keep her bodily actions restrained for a moment, she did a double-take, and her shocked crimson eyes blinked quite a few times just to make sure she was still in reality. But then again, after Xane's previous question she guessed she should of been expecting something...close to this. Shaking her furry coat, she suddenly saw a single snowflake land on the tip of her ebony nose. The oncoming of winter had just began. That was not good. Renaissance looked up at the Alpha of the Western pack and smiled gently, responding, -"That is sincerely shocking, my friend! I would be honored to help lead the pack alongside you, that is, if you still feel I am fit for the job," she had decided to ignore the awkward subject of mates just for the time being.

I know she is out there. He smiled after she responded. Then he looked uo as the first flake of snow fell upon them, symbolizing the turn of winter. When she finished her response he stood up, pleasant with emotions with what he had just heard. "Im pretty sure my mind didn't change a couple seconds after what I had just said. Of course I feel you're still fit for the position" he smiled at her once more. Excitement course though his body. This was a rather ecstatic moment for him. He had never appointed anyone to be the Alphess of his pack. Of course he held on to that dream that it would be Sira. But the past is the past. And tomorrow is the future. And the future is reversed for his pack.
He bowed his head at her somewhat playfully. "Welcome Alphess renaissance..." he chuckled and gracefully stared upon her. "We will announce this tomorrow evening... I'll say everything, and when I'm finished you can throw in what you need to say..." he felt relatively happy at this moment. Something he hadn't been in quiet a while. But my pack comes first, even if it hurts.
