Also featuring Twitch, the slave.
Blood spattered to the ground.
He picked himself off of the forest floor, pine needles plastered to the right side of his head. He looked out from a face that was bruised, swollen, and bloodied, his white-rimmed eyes taking in the monstrosity before him.
“I know that you’re too dumb to understand much, but listen well,” snapped Thor. His fur felt hot like fire with his anger, as he swung his clubbed tail around and nailed the wolf on the head for the third time.
Twitch slumped to the ground again, and this time he did not get up. He lay there panting, his every muscle rigid with fear, his saliva-spotted muzzle opening in an anxious pant. He flinched slightly as the alpha’s gravelly voice hit him like a slap in the face.
“I’m your master now, slave. You follow me. And if you try to run away again, I’ll smash every bone in your body. Personally.” Thor squeezed the words out in short growls, through his huffing and puffing.
Twitch’s mind did not grasp much meaning out of the alpha’s strange speech, which sounded like a combination of various animal noises. The one word he was able to interpret was “master,” and this caused understanding to ring in his mind like a bell. This winged wolf with bony protrusions was more than just the alpha of his pack- he was now also the alpha of him. Twitch lay still on his side, too frightened to move, although he did prop up his hind leg so that his belly showed. It was a clear sign of submission, and Twitch could only hope that this gesture would help appease his master.
Thor just stared at the slave, but his look had a piercing quality that made Twitch, well, twitch. His teeth were still bared, but they were unbloodied. Thor had mainly let his tail and horns do the talking when he caught Twitch trying to make a run for it. Well if he doesn’t get the message now, I might as well have Sira spike him through, he grumbled to himself. Finally Thor let himself relax, and as his lips lowered so did his anger.

Wandering. That was she had been doing, Jaelyn. And just for that, when there was no need for hunting or even cleaning for once in the main camp grounds where the dens were all located, she had to come across Thor beating the crap out of what appeared to be a dirty Naama. Her presence did not seem to be noticed and she took the chance to keep her distance. She did not want to be beaten to a pulp by Thor or Sira or whoever for a possibly crime of spying/trespassing. Especially since she had been here by the term 'accident'. Jaelyn sat, out of sight and a respectable distance away, the rusty coated wolf sneering. She was sneering at the Naama. Sure, she knew Naama weren't known to be smart or anything, but come on. Any wolf who had a hair of instinct or smarts would've never tried it. Well, unless they were desperate or somethin'. But said Naama now had earned Jaelyn's utmost disrespect. Now all she had to worry about was avoid getting the brains beaten out of her for stumbling upon this incident.

My heart still wishes for the love I lost.It was just a normal day in the eastern territory. But in a turn of events she found herself sniffing out the scent of blood. She was able to smell it when she was hunting, it caught her attention. But who had it come from? She made her way through the forest, she could hear Thor talking. But to whom? She finally found him, he was covered in blood did he get hurt? She ran forward to meet up with him, worried. Had her alpha gotten hurt? She bursted through the bushes and saw a helpless wolf laying on it's side, leg up. Had he beaten the life out of a newcomer? That wasn't like him. "Thor... Thor what's going on?" she spoke with concern. What had gotten into him?
She walked up closer to the strange wolf. He reeked of blood. There was something different about this wolf. She needed more information to put her paw on it...
But my mind is telling to follow the crosshairs.

He heard pawsteps. Thor glanced over to find Sira rushing onto the scene, worry clearly displayed upon her face. As she lowered her head to give Twitch an investigatory sniff, Thor fought to relax his clenched jaw. At last succeeding in this, he gave a terse reply, “Some wolves gave me this stupid slave. Tried to run away.” Thor drew in a long breath, and as he let it out he felt the remaining irritation leave his body. With a clearer gaze, Thor glanced at Sira, and he realized that some of her concern had been for him. “I’m alright,” he said in a much more relaxed voice. I must look like a mess, he mused to himself, and it was true- dried blood lined his armored face, and dotted his tail. Thor then turned away from the beaten slave, flicking his tail in a beckoning gesture. Twitch leapt up, his body soon regretting the quick movement. But he was now determined to obey the alpha at all costs, and trailed behind him as close as he dared, keeping a wary eye on the clubbed tail. His gaze strayed just once, when it happened to land on a female Uuma’s sneering face. Frightened, Twitch whined and licked his nose, keeping his head and tail down. Thor then stopped and turned towards the slave, who cringed before him. “Go hunt,” he growled. Twitch scampered off as if he understood the phrase. Thor let out a sigh, hoping that the Naama wasn’t just fooling with him. He also hoped that taking in the slave in the first place would not prove a bad decision. Thor gave his head a quick shake, trying to clear it of such wearying thoughts. WORD COUNT 340 NOTES n/a LYRICS n/a

My heart still wishes for the love I lost. She listened intently as Thor explained what had gone on. A naama wolf. She had only ever heard of them. But still, she was surprised that her father didn't have them, and Thor had accepted one. She stepped back from the slave wolf and next to Thor. From the stories she had heard, naama wolves were empty headed wolves compared to uumas. Useless, lower than omega wolves. And another note she had made sure to remember, naama were born to serve uumas. And no sympathy was to be shown.
She straightened her back and shoulders and sat down next to him. She kept a cold stare as the naama struggled to it's paws to obey thors orders. As soon as he had left she turned to Thor. Blood caked various parts of his body, and parts of his face. She stood up and licked it off, making him more presentable. "you look like you had a battle with a dear..." his fur was ruffled and his face was frantic from irritation and adrenaline. "So, our pack is currently in possession of a slave wolf... I wonder how this will turn out" she looked to where the naama had previous laid. There was blood on the forest floor. But my mind is telling to follow the crosshairs.

Jaelyn watched as a worried Sira showed up on the scene, talking with Thor for a brief moment before stepping back from the Naama. Smart move, if you asked Jaelyn. The bloodied slave-wolf scampered off to try and do as Thor had ordered. Jaelyn wasn't so sure the little wolf could pull if off. She could almost feel pity for the slave. Almost. Yawning and stretching her jowls ever so slightly, in an attempt to remain undiscovered by Thor or Sira, she was about to leave when she heard a very clear, high pitched yelp. Jaelyn spun around ever so quietly only to find a small she wolf in front of her. The scent told her everything, it was another Naama wolf. Jaelyn only smiled a creepy sickly sweet smile, her fangs glinting in the little light the forest let in. The she wolf in front of her noticeably trembled. Not wanting to prolong her stay, Jaelyn slipped away from Thor, Sira and the female Naama, leaving the Naama to her fate.
Swift was trembling, and bad. Her own primal yelp of fear ranged through her ears just as it had in her surroundings only a mere moment ago. The other wolf had been beaten bad, that was clear, even to Swift. Her ears were flat back across her head, her trembling imitating that of a small frightened fawn. Would that happen to her for just being here? All she understood is she needed to get out of here, and get back and do the other chores scheduled for her. She began to look frantically back and forth, hazel eyes gleaming in fear, head twisting comically this way and that.

Thor’s mood was immediately lightened as Sira came to his side, her warm tongue carassing his face, cleaning off a splotch of red. Thor’s body relaxed, the weight of a leader’s burden easing from his shoulders. He chuckled at her comment, for he had asked himself the same question only seconds ago. After all, this was something that had never been done in the yellowstone packlands, much less in Thor’s own pack. But now Thor’s confidence returned, and in all honesty he didn’t give a slave’s behind if no other pack was brave enough to try it. The Naamas deserved to be slaves, and the least they could do was to earn their living by serving him.
Thor felt oddly comfortable next to Sira, and he felt a sudden need to say something that had been residing in the back of his mind for a while. He glanced around to ensure that they were alone, and then turning toward Sira, Thor’s gaze met with hers. He was not one to give into timidity, so he forged onward before his courage failed him. “Sira, I have something to ask of you…” You could tell that this was important to Thor, otherwise he would have just spat it out in his usual crass speech. But not this time. “Before summer turns into fall, I want someone to be at my side, to be my alphess. I want you to be that someone.” Thor’s tone was quieter and softer than usual, but still maintained that familiar stern edge. Secretly Thor hoped that his earnestness did not show on his face.
Suddenly Thor was startled by a high-pitched yelp. It did not sound like one of his own, but Thor knew that that was no excuse not to investigate. He swallowed another sigh. Casting Sira an apologetic look, Thor dragged himself away from the she-wolf and into the forest. He was so distracted that he only saw the trembling Naama when he had approached to a distance of about four wolf-lengths. It was not Twitch, but he could tell by the dull eyes and cowering figure that she was a slave. Narrowing his eyes, Thor glanced suspiciously around. Someone must have abandoned her and left, for there was no sign of any other wolf around, besides Jaelyn’s fading scent. I hope I can get this done with quick, he grumbled, his mind still riveted on the image of a she-wolf with spikes running down her back.

My heart still wishes for the love I lost. She smiled as the mood lightened and when he chuckled at the joke. At least there was a less serious mood than what there was previously. She was content. The forest was calm, and the two wolves sitting side by side were sitting with relaxed nerves. Times like these she loved the simplicity of just the two of them. Like it was before the pack had grown.
Her paws tingled as he spoke. The atmosphere around them had changed. It was a different one. He had a serious matter to ask her. From the sou d of his voice it was serious. She listened intently. He spoke of fall, an alphess and her. Her eyes had turned a soft violet color. She now knew what the color meant. It was an affectionate feeling. She had gotten it with Xane, but they had part ways. And now she has a new life, and whether it be alone or with Thor will be her decision.
She looked up at him, finding words to say. She knew what she wanted to say, but the words to say was what she was finding. He become bothered, and had to investigate a strange sound. This gave her time to gather her thoughts. When he left to go around the corner, she smiled. She hasn't been this happy since she and Xane and separated. And now since she has been with Thor, and up until now. She knows she will be the alphess and rule the pack side by side with Thor.
But my mind is telling to follow the crosshairs.

Swift's worse nightmare appeared in front of her. A.K.A Thor, alpha of the Eastern pack. You could see her trembling, like a jittery bug had overtaken the Naama's body. Swift unconsciously out of fear took a step back, than another. Her jowls were open, but she wasn't making a single noise. The Naama had no idea whether to go back to work or bow down and wait for an order. Swallowing, the wolf's fear decided for her. Before she could faint, she got down on her back and showed her belly, whimpering in a an obviously submissive manner. It was the best the slave could do, she wasn't Uuma, she couldn't speak, she Naama, a beast of the supposed 'slave race'.

As the Naama slumped over on her side, revealing her soft, fleshy belly, Thor was forced to make a decision. This slave seemed to have already been broken; she was quick to obey and did not try to flee, unlike the flighty Twitch. With no sign of the slave’s master, Thor chose to take her as his own. He gave her a nod of acceptance, saying, “We’ll call you Swift. Come with m-” Thor stopped short as Twitch came running towards him, holding up a meager mouse in his jaws. Thor growled, causing Twitch to whine and avert his gaze. “You should be ashamed, Twitch. That tiny thing wouldn’t feed a snake.” Twitch played the part of an apologetic slave, dropping the mouse to the ground. Thor’s gaze jerked over to the female, Swift. “Show him how to hunt,” he ordered her. And just in case she didn’t get the picture, Thor bluff-charged them both to get them on their way. Twitch scittered off, nearly peeing himself in his fright.
Thor gave himself a quick shake to clear his head and realign his thoughts. Having seen the two slaves off, Thor began to pick his way back through the forest. With his alpha duties settled, Thor had a few moments to ponder in quiet. He wondered if his question to Sira had been well received - he knew that Sira still had feelings for a lost love, but it seemed she had moved on. She had been his partner since the creation of the pack, and they had shared many things together. Sira was a wolf that was loyal and strong, but Thor knew that her presence had a calming affect on his sometimes fiery personality. When he ran his mind over the facts, Thor figured that Sira simply could not deny his request. His eyes glinted in a sort of teasing smirk. How could she not want to by at the side of such a powerful male? As Thor came round the final clump of trees, he spotted Sira sitting right where he had left her. He approached at a brisk walk, not wanting to break into a run should he seem like a star-struck pup. But Thor was admittedly eager to hear her reply, and also admittedly concerned when he could not decide whether were eyes were an angry red or a soft pink.

My heart still wishes for the love I lost.As the thoughts raced in her mind. She knew the decision she was going to make. Xane had his own life now, she was sure of it. And she knew since their departure there was a chance they would never see each other again. And she had grown fond of Thor since they had been together. From the start of the pack to now.
She noticed him walking through and back to where he had left her. She smiled when she saw him. She had her answer. "Thor, since you took me into the pack as your beta... I knew I would grow close to you... It was an inevitable feeling for me to avoid" she got her first part down. She gathered her thoughts for the next, "This wasn't a hard decision for me to make... My old love has a life of his own, I don't know where he is. But I don't think about that anymore, because I reside with you... I would love to be your alphess, Thor..." it was a long explanation for such a short answer. But it was how she felt. But my mind is telling to follow the crosshairs.

Swift listened as the big ol' Uuma talked, barely understanding anything really, but her previous time as a slave lent her understanding of the key meaning of things. However it was clear this alpha's mannerisms were quite different than her previous master's were. She watched as another of her kind showed up with a mouse in jaws, and she sensed a sort of disapproval from the master towards the other slave. Swift's ears went down, afraid that negativity may affect her, but it didn't seem to. Her ears perked up, her eyes shining a bit more as she received an order. She caught the words 'Show', 'Him', and ''Hunt', and while maybe not actually understanding the words as a Uuma would, she knew the order's meaning, just not the words. Than the alpha seemingly charged them and Swift got the message, in a way, Got it? And hurry it up!. Skittering back a few feet, Swift got to her feet and looked with her hazel eyes at the other slave and yelped at him, an obvious indication to follow her, as a pup would a parent. Not that Swift knew anything about parenting. Swift set off, partly to do it, partly out of fear of her master, and looked to Twitch, as if impatiently waiting.

Also featuring Twitch, the slave.
Sira's sincere answer painted a happy smile on Thor's face. He reached out and gave her a sloppy lick on the muzzle, just to show her his appreciation. "Atta girl," he huffed. Suddenly remembering something, Thor cocked his head and said, "Hold on a sec." Turning and leaping back into the forest, Thor snatched up the measly mouse that Twitch had dropped. He flung it in the air, caught it again, and then headed back toward his alphess at a brisk trot. His alphess. Thor couldn't help but chuckle at that. Soon he was dropping the mouse at Sira's feet, saying, "Here. It's probably too small to share."
At Swift's beckoning yelp Twitch came a-running, nearly tripping over his paws in his haste. He took his place behind her, with his ears twitching back and forth erratically and his steps quick and highly strung. But the presence of this more experienced, mild-mannered female helped to calm his nerves. As they moved out in search of larger prey, the fitful moving of his head eased, and his posture turned alert instead of fearful.

Swift looked back briefly, half fearful that a random Uuma would come out, or Twitch would suddenly become aggressive. Her steady steps echoed lightly against the fallen foliage of autumn. Trailing down, her ears perked and her nose sniffing the air, she flicked her ear at Twitch to pay attention to her, to get his attention. She had caught the scent of a stray rabbit, and according to her master's wishes, wanted Twitch to watch and learn. The wind blew lightly west, and bringing with it, the increasing scent of the rabbit. She entered instinctively a stalking position, taking it slow so Twitch would see her.

My heart still wishes for the love I lost. When she finished speaking, he returned her words with a wet lick on her muzzle. And with that, her eyes turned violet. After all this time, she had finally been able to figure it out. That color is passion and love. It's about time she figured it out. She was overwhelmed inside, she could feel her nerves dance with excitement. And that is what it seems he did too. He brought back the mouse the slave had brought earlier. A gesture, for she was his alphess.
In all her years she never thought she wuld become an alphess of a pack, being afraid of the responsibility and lives that were in her paws. But now the time has come, and she couldn't feel more confident that she would rule with Thor by her side. Of course Xane still rested in the back of her mind, but that's where he needed to be, just the back of her mind and no where else. Now it was all about Thor and her new pack.
She returned his words of happiness with a soft and delicate lick on his cheek. She didn't know what to say, shrews genuslly happy. So instead she picked at the small mouse, only half and nudged the rest of it to Thor. She would feel selfish if she ate it alone, after all, this was a moment of two wolves coming together. But my mind is telling to follow the crosshairs.
