I finally have the freedom I've wanted. On her adventures alone she had become distant from others. When she had left her pack, she had separated herself from any wolf she crossed paths with. Some fought with her and some let her rest with them for the night. She had slightly opened up to a wolf named amedeus. They had become slight friends, but one day he had just disappeared. Her heart stung at this, as her only friend on her lone adventures had gone away. So now, she was back out on the trail. The home she had made for herself had been destroyed from a powerful spring storm. So now she was on the hunt to find a place to live.
She had heard of other packs in this area. She hadn't been in one since she left her old pack and Dax. She wondered if she would ever be in one again. But in the mean time she had been set out on the path of an outcast. She had arrived in a forest. And by the scents that surrounded her, she had entered a pack territory. Of course she was frightened, as some pack wolves were cruel to outcast wolves that crossed into their territory. She stepped lightly and her hears twitched like a radar sensor. Making sure she wouldn't be snuck up on. But is it really freedom if you live it alone?

Safo made her way through the forest, intending to find some easy prey or at least a good spot to relax. Her hunger wasn’t a pressing issue, but it wouldn’t hurt to fill up if she could find something easy. Definitely something easy, though, and not a rabbit or anything particularly agile. The effort that would be spent in catching such a creature would be more than the fuel she could get from it. Even carrion would be acceptable, as long as it was fairly fresh.
She hadn’t been in the pack for long, but she had managed to prove herself useful to the alpha and been granted a place among the Eastern pack members. If she could keep herself well fed and maybe even bring extra food to the den, she could reassure the other wolves that she could do all the regular duties any other wolf could perform. That was the thought that drove her on this solo hunt.
She intended solely on hunting. Not on catching the scent of another wolf.
But now the scent wafted toward her, unmistakable. Her hackles rose and she bounded toward the scent, her bad leg lifted as close to her body as was comfortable. Putting any weight on that paw would only slow her down, and as it was she wouldn’t make it to the intruder as fast as some of the others.
Eventually, the unknown she-wolf came into view, and an analysis of the scents in the area told Safo that the stranger was alone. Alone in pack territory. Was she suicidal or just not paying attention?
Well, in either case, she would have to be confronted. Safo approached the stranger, walking on all four paws and trying – with no success – to keep from limping. She kept her gaze on the stranger, not sure what to make of her.
“You are alone on pack territory.” It was a statement; not a threat, but not said in a pleasant tone either. An indirect demand for an explanation.

I finally have the freedom I've wanted. She was already quiet aware this land was not hers. Every step she took was soft, like she was stepping on a cloud. A scent had caught her attention. It must be a pack wolf, it was getting closer and closer. A voice had come up from behind her. Her hackles raised, but she didnt mean for it to be intentional. She turned around to find another she wolf.
She crouched down, her stomach was on the ground, showing the wolf she wasn't in for a surprise attack. "Yes... I am, it was an accident, I'm just passing through..." she had hoped this was enough to let her live. Who knows, maybe more could be waiting for an assault on the lone wolf.
[[ooc;; in a bit, could you do something that could make her feel like her life is in danger? She has the power echo-voice, which will attract Dax because he has super hearing]] But is it really freedom if you live it alone?

The unfamiliar wolf’s hackles rose, but she crouched down when Safo spoke to her, knowing that she had been caught trespassing. Safo stepped toward the she-wolf, sizing her up. It could be as innocent as she said, and that she really was simply passing through. It could also be that she was a scout that had been told to say that to avoid an unnecessary death. There was no way to tell, and she knew from previous experiences that it was best to err on the side of caution in this situation. The pack must be put before a supposed helpless stranger. She didn’t look like a danger, but looks could be deceiving, and words even more so.
“Passing through, huh?” Safo spoke in a low growl. She decided it would be best to act tough for now. If a fight did occur and she found herself outmatched, she could always howl for help. “Passing through to where, exactly?”

I finally have the freedom I've wanted. She watched as the wolf stepped forward, now she felt even more threatened. This was a mistake, she should have ran instead showed her innocents. "I'm just passing through, I'm just findin a place to stay..." she explained. "I'll just pass trough and it will be like I was never here..." she stood up, no more being a push over.
All her life she had been a wolf that could be dominated. No more, she can't be a push over all her life. "Just let me go on through... Spare us both the events of today" she smiled awkwardly, hoping this newly found charm would let her go on her way. But is it really freedom if you live it alone?

Safo’S fur bristled. It seemed like a fight was inevitable. “If anyone else in my pack finds you here, you’ll be dead meat, and my fate will be worse if they know that I let you go. Any of them could wind up here at any given moment. Perhaps a whole patrol will spot you. Either way, mercy for you is not mine to grant.”
She bared her teeth and stepped closer. “I’ll give you a moment to prepare yourself.” She really hoped the stranger would flee and all she would have to do is chase her out. She really didn’t want to get into a fight with her. The loner seemed scared enough as it was, and it was hard to fake that. Still, she had a duty to her pack and she was determined to carry it out.

I finally have the freedom I've wanted.Well it seems that little charm didn't work. I'm fact it had begun to set the pack wolf off. Great, just what she needed. "Look, I apologize... But what will chasing me out do? No one is going to see, and I will be right out... No need for a fight" but she knew words would do nothing. She felt a fight brewing between them. Obviously this pack wolf was not stupid, so she would have to fight her way back out of this territory.
She went to speak again, but her voice had failed. She was going to admit to just leaving, but she couldn't talk. What's going on? She hadn't a clue. But now it seems her voice won't let her talk her way out. But is it really freedom if you live it alone?

Safo suppressed a sigh as the strange wolf spoke. The young pack member was sure that the loner wasn’t a member of any pack by this point. If she had been she would have known the laws and instincts regarding trespassers. She felt a stab of pity in her heart for the other she-wolf, but duties were duties. What could she do that wouldn’t potentially land her in trouble? The only correct thing to do here was attack and hope that that scared the other wolf away.
I really didn’t want to do this… She bit back the words. The stranger knowing that Safo felt pity for her would put her at a disadvantage in this fight. She had to keep up the brute act. One vicious bark later, she lunged toward the trespasser, intending to intimidate her further…or knock her off her feet if she didn’t move.

I finally have the freedom I've wanted. Her eyes opened wide, it had begun. She tried to speak out. Her vocal cords had tightened. She was more scared of that then she was of the pack wolf. The wolf had lunged forward to her. She had almost froze in her spot. Although her voice is gone, her mobility isn't, and that's one thing she was grateful for. She sunk with her stomach on the ground and ran across as the wolf had made air. She ran under the wolf, feeling the tips of her back claws run down her back. She stood up and turned around, nipping the wolf on the tail.
Of course she had still tried to speak out, but she was still unable to. A strange feeling began to arise from her throat. She was caught off guard. The feeling growing stronger...
[[ooc;; Beware! The echo voice has begun to awake from inside her!]] But is it really freedom if you live it alone?

The she-wolf ducked as Safo lunged, and she felt herself flying over her opponent. A slight drag on her back feet told her that her claws had made contact with the other wolf’s body, but it wouldn’t have done much, if anything.
The young wolf yelped as teeth pinched at her tail and landed awkwardly on all fours beyond where the trespasser had been standing. She spun around as quickly as she could. The strange she-wolf was still there. Safo swore under her breath. The other she-wolf was braver than she seemed, and it appeared as though she was in for a full battle.
Have it your way, then. Safo charged toward the she-wolf, jaws opened and ready to snap closed on whatever she would reach first.
((XDDD In that case, here goes nothing…literally.))

CierraIt seemed her quick thinking had upset the pack wolf. Maybe she had underestimated her, which is what one would never ant to do when in a battle. Unless the wolf had tipped over, belly up, showing complete submission. But that wasn't cierra. She had grown in the pack of a murderous leader, she did learn tricks before her escape. And boy did that come in handy.
The feeling grew stronger. She was curious as to what it was. Her distraction was occupied. Wondering. When she looked back up a set of jaws had been coming her way. Then everything happen, as if it were in slow motion. The mysterious feeling had come from her throat and out her mouth. An ear shattering howl had come from that noise. It was loud, beyond loud. It was an amazing feeling. The sound had howled out with ease. DaxIt was just a normal day of hunting nothing had been eventful lately. The last few days had flew by so quickly. Nothing had been eventful in his life. He needed a change.
A sound had caught his attention. A high pitched howl. This was such a strange phenomenon. He had never heard this is all his years of having enhanced hearing. He didn't care what it was, but he was far from cautious. He broke off from his hunting pattern and raced through the forest to find the wolf with the echo howl.

Safo was so close…another step forward might have made contact with the intruder. Then something happened. She didn’t know what, exactly. All of a sudden the air was filled with the most painfully loud howl she had ever heard, originating from none other than her opponent.
The young she-wolf backed off a few paces, taken completely aback by the howl. She couldn’t let the trespasser out of her sight. What would the others in the pack think? Still…that noise! She would think she had gone deaf if she wasn’t still hearing the howl.
It hurt almost too much to move, but that didn’t matter. A sound that loud was sure to draw others of the pack toward the two. Safo would focus on recovering and attempt another attack once the howl concluded.

CierraOnce the howl had died down, she froze. She didn't know what to say, or if she could even talk. "What in the world... Was that!?" the words bubbled out from her mouth. She was just a shocked as the pack wolf. Well, maybe a little less. She could see from the look of the wolf, that it was a most painful experience. Well, from her point of view. As for cierra? It was a tickling feeling in her throat. Such a powerful feeling. And yet, she felt as giddy as a pup when they discover their first meat tasting.
She glanced at her opponent again. This time, she felt stronger. And confident about the fight between them, even though there was a possibility she was aout to be surrounded by her pack mates. Her eyes furrowed, her attention solely on the pack wolf. The tables had turned, and boy was it an amazing feeling.
DaxHis heart pounded with excitement and blood. He was anxious to figure out the beholder of the strange howl. His ears pointed him in the direction it sounded from. He had wanted to get there before anyone else. He wanted to examine the creature first. Selfish? Yes, quiet.
He was running as fast as his legs could carry him. Although if one were to blink he would be far gone. He glided through the forest, knowing he was nearing. Then his nose did the work. He has picked up two scents. One that was familiar, and the other was not. Drats, the stray had been found first. But nonetheless it wouldn't stop his adventure.
Once had had neared, he had picked up the scent of a new pack mate. It was safo. Quiet a young she wolf, but offered potential. He lurked in the bushed once he had discovered their location. He noticed that the sound had stunned safo. Was it that powerful? And then he turned towards the creator of the sound. The turn tables began ticking. That body frame. That ticked pelt. Those eyes. For any wolf, it would seem that those are traits of those in a memory. But the pelt color was so com or for this breed. He shrugged it off. Then he saw it. His jaw had slightly dropped, his eyes focused on an emerald. That necklace.

It took way longer than she wanted to recover from the terrible shock that was the intruder’s howl of doom. There was something to that…no normal wolf could howl that loudly. It scared her, but she wasn’t about to show fear. Not to the loner. The loner had the upper hand at the moment as it was. Perhaps Safo could turn this to her advantage… The howl died down, and Safo prepared to make another attack, but her attempt was halted at the loner’s words. She seemed just as confused as the pack member. Seriously? Did she not know she could do that? Then how…? Safo shook her head rapidly to clear those thoughts away. That wasn’t important. What was important was defending the territory…and surviving. The loner had gained confidence, which would make her a more able fighter. Safo would have to be careful from here on. She considered howling for help, but decided against it for now. If it was clear that she would lose the fight, she would alert the others. For now, there was still a chance she could run this trespasser off. She didn’t know how big that chance was, but it was there. For her to succeed, this fight had to end, and it had to end quickly. There were no growls, no barks, no bristled manes, no crouched postures. The only warning she gave her opponent now was a flash of a jaw-full of sharp predator teeth headed straight for her neck. ((Feel free to have her somehow miss completely, since this is a more or less planned fight. ^.^ )

Cierra&DaxThe pack wolf had regained her thoughts and had put her head back in tot he fight. Except now, it had began to become equal. Her mind was so occupied, she was thinking and pondering. But it has taken her too late to realize what was going on. Her eyes opened wide as she felt teeth insert into her neck. She knew better to be off guard, but that noise was so powerful it had stunned her itself.
His eyes opened wide as he saw the outside wolf get pummeled by his pack mate. He ran out of the bushes and ran straight into the side Safo. He had hoped this would pry her off her neck. "If you wish to attack her, you attack me first..." his voice was low. It wasn't angered, in fact it had sounded a little distant. He didn't mean for it to sound like fighting words, and he knew safo was smart enough to know they weren't.
