Time. It is an interesting manner that can tear wolves apart, or bring them together, in the most interesting of ways. On this day a young female entered the Targe forest when following the trail of a elderly doe. Running, they had been for the longest of times, across the plains and through several different forests. The doe's eyes were filled with fire when the chase had first started but they seemed to be weakening as time marched on. The even of Britt taking down her first real meal of a doe was in, seemingly, no way connected to any of what her fate could be.
No real connection you would have to agree. But things can come together in stranger ways. As the doe plummeted to the ground, and her blood ran a deep red, the she-wolf almost immediately set to gorging herself on it's rich and fresh meat. It was a taste that she had hoped for for such a long time it almost seemed unreal. The path that had lead the female here was long troden down, deer growing accustiomed to using it as escape route in their times of need. But now it was the wolves time to use the path. No more time, for` now it was time for the deer to take heed of the wolf's fair warning as the female left the carcass on the path for the crows to take their turn.
She lay down beside it. A soft and relaxed sigh escaping her worn out, tired, lips. Something about being here made her nervous, but she sniffed the air and layed her head on her paws. Britt was to watch the direction she came from. "He will come. He.. Promised.."But the male she spoke of was dead. He would only be able to run into her dreams now. Fitful dreams they were bound to be if she found out the wolf she loved was dead. They were dreams she had every night. Britt had found out, but repeated the same words everytime before she rested, in hopes that it could help her undo something that could never be undone.
A pair or ears flicked back and forth nervously as shoulders relaxed beneath soft, beautiful, fur and a set of hunter's eyes flickered to sleep beneath the cool and peaceful trees of the Targe Forest.

The male had thought about bringing kassander out for more observation of the territory. In the end he decided he could do it another time. Don't get him wrong, he loved his new pack and home. But sometimes he liked to have his space as well. He decided to work on marking his territory instead. He sniffed a few trees until he found the edge of his territory. Once he found the tree he was looking for, he leisurely lifted his let to mark once again. A few seconds later he had sprinkled the last of his marking. He turned and smiled lazily. This was his territory. He liked that.
He sniffed the air and could smell his scent. But another faint smell caught his attention. It wasn't him. It wasn't Elenora. And it wasn't kassander. It was a loner wolf. A faint scent, but he could still pick it up. If he were able to pick it up, then they had to be within territory distance. They were still here. He let the wind pick up more before he started to head into the direction of the target of the unfamiliar smell. It wasn't long before a summer breeze met his satisfaction.
He didn't run after the wolf in alarm. He walked with his nose to the ground.the scent was growing stronger. He had to be nearing. The more he followed the more he could tell about it. For starters it was a female. He made his ways through the trees. Weaving through the same path. He began to notice some chaotic activity in the ground. Hooves in the mud to escape. And prints from the wolf making the hoof prints disappear. He snorted. He didn't have a problem with the old walking through. But taking prey from his pack. That was something he wouldn't tolerate. But he wondered if he would find them.
It wasn't long before he had started seeing blood spots and patches on the ground. He sniffed it to figure out if it was close. And it was. He could see where the body had been dragged. Then he stumbled across the old doe. And then he spotted the wolf he had been searching for. "Only a foolish wolf would sleep in a territory, catch their prey and sleeps where she eats..." a deep growl rose from his throat.

A startled she wolf rose from behind the old doe in a suddenly alarmed manner. Milliseconds later, after the blurriness of sleep escaped her eyes, Britt was now well aware of the large and angry male in front of her. She could clearly tell he was a wolf of a pack, his manner spoke of it. Putting anger and a pack male together was an easy answer that this was his territory. It was a fine territory at that, and Britt could understand why the male was so angry about her and the doe. But the doe had not came from here, but rather quite far off.
"I.. I.. Am truly sorry. But this doe was not from anywhere around here, It came from up North and I have chased it for three days to catch it so I was not planning on just leaving it here for the scavengers to eat it." Her voice wavered at first but grew in strength. Although the voice was still quite soft compared to the intensity of the birds, it was filled with worry and some regret. Britt quickly assessed the male. He was strong and bold but his coat look a bit like hers. His eyes were filled with a fiery color of anger and his long fangs were exposed by a deep snarl. The she wolf's ears went back in a bit of shame and, while keeping a rather nervous eye on the male, Britt sat. Her tail curled around her paws as she wondered what the male would make her do. "So what are you going to do? Kill me? If so I request a head start." **This is not meant to sound rude or sassy but more serious and sencier.

As he breathed, a deep growl escaped. His eyes burned with irritation for the trespasser. She explained that the doe has come from a northern territory of sorts. He didn't really care. But when she explained this, the growling stopped. He still felt burned that she had trespassed. But not so much as he had felt before. When she spoke of a rather cruel punishment he shook his head. "Kill you? I wouldn't go to that extreme..." his voice lowered into a less harsh tone. He pondered what he should do.
He would wonder what things would be like if Elenora had come with, maybe she would have made it into an over exaggerated situation. He wasn't sure. But he knows she wouldn't be happy if he has brought a rogue wolf. but he was the alpha. He made the choices. But would he really want his pack to be known as the stray pack? Like where he had come from. He considered the idea, as he would rule the pack in his rules. Not Roscos. "You look worn down..." he started, "you seem to not care where you sleep... You have permission to stay with my pack for a few days until you are rested... his upper lip slightly twitched. Unsure if this was a safe decision.

"I would like that very much. You may have some if you would like. I would never be able to eat that much in time for it not to spoil."She said nodding to the carcass. The she wolf stood slowly and glanced over the male again, her ears coming forward to their normal positions. He was defiantly a strong male and she had guessed right when she suspected him to be a pack male. Handsome too. No, no, no, she could not think that. She would just be resting there and if there were any other females she would probably be driven out by them as soon as possible anyways.
As she stood Britt tried to ignore the ache that was so strong in her musclesand mind. Every muscle was still ridged and ready, not yet relaxed from such a long run. This was as far as she had ever ran before for prey, normally sticking to rabbits and other small prey over a elderly doe like this. The remains of the animal remained lifeless on the cool ground beneath the trees. The thought of him being handsome took quite a toll on her mind. Thinking back to her previous, and deceased, mate Malisko. How could she ever think of someone other than him? How could she. It was hard to even try.
This doe was one of the strange events that would drive lives together. It had brought her here. To this land and this male, even a pack possibly. It sometimes seems weird how stuff like that can happen and change a wolf's fate in a completely different path than expected. Away from the past that had pained her so much. Britt now stood here. Her fate being pondered as some force, heavens only knows what, told her to speak once again as she stood, across a carcass on a old human and deer mud path, looking at a male who was so kindly offering her, a tired stranger, a place to ease her pains.
Looking from the carcass to the male Britt spoke quietly. "Thank you." And after a pause, fate seemingly kicked in again, "My name is Britt."

He was quiet aware that Elenora would be aggravated that he had made this decision. But he was pack leader. When she introduced her name, he kept his eyes at an unemotional stare. "Your stay may not be permanent. But you will be protected by me from the other pack female. She isn't as... Accepting as I am..." he still wasn't sure how he would intro due the situation to her. But he hoped there wouldn't be many issues. He didn't have to consult with anything he did, she wasn't even a beta. As for him introducing his name? That date may subject to change...
He looked at the carcass she left. "As for this? This will go back to the pack... It should make things a little easier..." he hooked some fur and flesh into his fangs.

Most females were like that. They tended to hate newcomers and Britt was ready to take on this interesting twist to her life's story. What was she like though? Was she this male's mate? Who could ever tell, not until she could see the female with her own eyes and decide. Britt had always been good at judging a wolf's character. Sometimes before they could themselves. That was how she had found Malisko. Something was in the males eyes that she liked. A certain sarcasm that made him witty but brave and she knew he could be trusted.
As she looked at the male before her feet she could see something in him that made him particularly strong in will and at heart. It could come to protect him in the future if he were to need it. What was in the males eyes could not be named, nor, describable. But whatever Britt saw in his eyes she liked it. If she could look deeper, closer, with more knowledge to what she was seeing, she would know was. Hardship, kindness, and some respect for everything.
"Of course. It is all perfectly understandable. Most females don't like us loners anyways. But then again, who really does like us..?" Britt said smirking a little bit as she looked down at the male trying to rip off some to take back to the pack. "Would you like some help?" She asked eyes kind, ears back a bit, and head cocked to the side ever so slightly.

She asked about helping him carry it back, he shook his head, "it's not needed... I have the strength the carry this on my own, it is half eaten" he smirked. He dragged it for a few feet, then he stopped. Words ran through his head. The word "loner" in particular. It bothered him. She spoke of it as if it was such a negative lifestyle.
He glanced at h when he remembered she spoke about being a loner and how no one liked them. He dropped the doe, "loners may not be liked by other... But if they have the heart to try, they could be loved by everyone..." he kept his eyes to the ground. He had been in a pack that was filled with rogue wolves. Everyone had a different story. Although, Rosco was a hateful leader. He couldn't dish out the smallest ounch of love for anyone. When Xane left, he was on his own for quiet some time. But he had made his way into others hearts and lives. All it took was the heart to try.
He spoke low, but with confidence. As if he was giving her advice. "As long as you try and put your heart into it, you can go anywhere... Only the foolish wolves ignore you"' he continued. Then he looked up at her, his eyes rippling in waves of different blues, "you will always be a loner at heart, but your loyalty will belong to a pack, you will always have moments where you just want to leave... Run away from the responsibility, the drama, the issues that come with a pack. But your loyalty won't let you. You will never not be a loner, and that's what makes you... No, that's what makes us the best pack members. You will have issues that regular members don't. You can get through it all..." he smiled and looked up at the sky. Then he looked back at her, "you may not understand this now... But you will" he knew it sounded like he was just rambling. He knew it sounded ridiculous that a pack member would ever have the heart of a loner. But one day, she might understand. After all, he did rise from being a loner to the alpha of a western pack.
He smiled, he felt etter after he got it out. It's what he wanted to say. And he was glad he said it. Maybe it would make her think a little more. ,aybw it would help her feel a little more comfortable. He did mention he was a loner once. Maybe it would make her feel her living as a loner won't give her such a bad reputation in a pack. He would help her along the way. He would argue with other members if they offended her. He wouldn't make it so she has to fight for herself. He knows other pack females are protective and territorial. Luckily, he only has Elenore. If things wouldn't fly so well, he will step in.

The words poured from the males mouth and Britt listened intently. It made sense. "I. I think I understand."She said deep into the thought of what he had said. Her memories came back to her through her thoughts of this males words. Walking by the creek with him. Fighting off her other courters to just have a shot at asking her. Hunting elkryn in the great plains with him. The good memories and a future. She hoped for a future with this pack. although one could never tell when it came to being a lone female wolf.
"But you see.. I never wanted to be a loner. It was not supossed to be my fate." When the words were spoke she imediatly wondered if it was right to tell this male. If she started she knew she would tell all or, at least, most of it. The bad past. The pain that had scorned her all these months. The pain that had driven her away from all she had ever known. The pain.
"I had a mate once." Britt said and looked down to her paws, a slight, but hurt, smile coming onto her face. "His name was Malisko... " A pained expression of times lost entered the she-wolf's face as she looked up at the trees and clouds, clearly trying to hold weakness in her memories from coming. It was hard to be without him. More than ever before. He had died very soon after they had courted. Hardly having more than a couple months together. Her voice cracked a bit as she spoke agian, "He got.. Really sick... He died a couple days after that." She looked back up at the male, grief in her eyes. She shook her head and smiled agian looking back up as she walked around a bit.
"I was never suppoessed to be a loner. I had a pack. I had a life. I had a mate... That was supossed to be where I belonged. But fate is not decided by the common wolf. Fate is decided by itself and it's actions." Britt said a pain in her voice and some anger too. But as she calmed she spoke agian. "You can't decided you fate, for it is decided for you." She looked at the ground.
"You see I was never supossed to be a loner. It have known love, but I have lost it too." Looking at the male through kind and tierd eyes, "I would say it is probably time to get this deer to your pack. May... May I ask your name please?" Britt asked cocking her head to one side in a questioning manner.

As she did to him, he did to her. He lightened. Some things were a little bit scattered, but he was able to pick up that she was forced to be a loner. Well, fate made her that way. "Try being the mate of your blood thirsty pack leader, you think I wanted to leave her in that pack?" he simply replied. Just as she was, fate had to drive him away. Although. He did it because she told him to, but he longed to stay wither and to protect her. They had gone their separate ways, but they both know they didn't want to.
She had talked about getting the deer back to camp. He nodded, but thenk she asked for his name again. He told her why she was here, why she left, her story. And he told her sow of his. He felt like it was well time for him to tell his new pack member his name. After all, he would be leading her from now on. Or at least until fate struck again. "Xane..." and with that he hooked the deer in his fangs and threw his head to the side and it hung over his shoulders and back.

"Nice to be of your acquaintance Xane" She said with a new and rejuvenated smile. **Should we start a new thread now...? One back at camp grounds so Britt can meet the family? :3
