The dead leaves crumpled under her paws. She has grown familiar with the silence since she left her pack nearly seven months ago. It was almost sunset. And she was tired of wandering around alone. She wanted to at least have someone to talk to. She hasn't talked in so long, that she feltmif she were to this second, almost no voice would come out. She found a small pool of water and decided this is where she would lay for the night. Taking in a few sips of it, she cleared her throat. Even though she didn't really use it like she uses to, she should still try to act like she will.
When she took a look at her surroundings, she noticed the bushes and trees. This little part flourished nicely. And maybe it is enough to house a lone wolf. When she took another look at the bushes, she walked closer and started to push through. Inside, the bushes were expanded. It was large inside, very roomy. It seemed that the roots grew one wide, and the leaves grew over to make it like a den. She didn't even have to work to make it a place to stay. She pushed her way out once more. The sun had set now, and small specks of stars started to appear.
She sat outside of her bush made den, the stars reflected off the small pond. After her searching, she found a decent place to stay. Trees surrounded the den, plenty of small prey in fact they flourished here. It was nearly perfect. Of course only she knew what could make it complete. But only time could form that future.

As the sun tucked itself behind the mountains the heat quickly began to evaporate, a slight chill in the air as the stars shone down brightly on the territory. The darkened landscape was bathed in a pale moonlight, creating a monochrome backdrop for the brightly colored wolf. He was tired, weary, and it showed on his expression. His usually flat-lined lips drooped in a frown, his eyelid having slipped halfway over his eye as his ears tilted back slightly in irritation. His long, ringed tail curled stiffly behind him, swaying with his steps as he twitched his nose and lifted his head, coming to a stop. Tilting his head his steely gaze ran over his rather obvious trail, bent grasses and trampled leaves having been left in his wake. Paranoia struck him, causing his eye to narrow as his heart gave a loud beat before falling silent. His lip twitched, the urge to have it curl up in disgust being quelled as he maintained his serious, placid mask. With a quick sweep of his tail he scattered the leaves behind him, hoping to put an end to his trail. A change in direction was needed.
He decided to head west. His silver eye darted upward, taking a moment to gaze at the stars before shooting back down to the horizon. More and more were appearing, and a cold wind was sweeping through the outlands bitterly. It raked its icy fingers through his short coat, just barely causing the blue hairs to ripple under its touch as the wolf flickered his ears. The soft whistle it gave while weaving through the boughs of the trees was almost haunting, however the eerie sound had managed to relax Amadeus in a way. He always felt most secure when he was alone. He rose his head, ears standing stiff on his skull as he hastened his slow, leisurely pace, breaking into a trot. His quick light steps moved him along easily, the careful placement of his paws now leaving a much less detectable trail. Just as that feeling of accomplishment was beginning to settle in, his muscles ached, his eyelid once again becoming heavy. Silently he cursed his body for being so useless, how did it still manage to hold him back? His mind was still racing. He wanted to keep going. But he was only a mortal. He needed his rest.
He came to a complete stop, his paws pressing hard into the ground as he shook his head, allowing the tremor to travel along his body. Having shaken off what he could of his sleepiness, he decided it best to find someplace to rest. Normally he liked to rest during the day, lounging about in the sun, but he could not deny his body respite any longer. It wasn't long before he found what he considered to be a rather suitable location. The glimmer of a small pond had caught his eye, its surface reflecting its surroundings like a mirror. The moon shined brightly against it, its glint almost hypnotizing him for a moment. Taking a couple steps toward it he turned his head to better analyze his surroundings. It was certainly lively. Filled with all kinds of healthy plants and strong trees. It only made sense though, his eye shifted down to the earth as he examined the ground as well. The soil was soft beneath his feet, and dark in color, certainly good for the plants to be growing in. The sweet smell of the pine trees filled his nose, and the earthy smell of the soil was welcoming. He narrowed his eye, its focus shifting to a somewhat familiar silhouette, that of a strange wolf. There was another, much less desired scent now filling his nose. He had wandered right into someone else's company. He stood still, flicking his tail suspiciously as he peered through the darkness, curious whether or not they had noticed him. His muscles remained relaxed, though his expression was dark as his brows slanted above his gaze.

Just as she was about to settle for the for the night. Her ears picked up something that should send a heart through their skull. Throughout the silence, she had heard soft footsteps. It wasn't hard, as there was only the sound of bugs chriping in the distance. She turned her head back and forth a couple times. She hasn't seen any thing around. Of course she could feel the presence near. So instead of fighting in alarm, she walked over to her small pond and laid her slim body next to it. Her paws dipped into the water lightly. Giving the small layer of water a few ripples of disturbance. At least if someone were to sneak up on her. She wouldn't have to keep her back turned towards the dark vortex of the forest.
She rested her head in the direction she came from. Looking next to her den. She had wondered who or what had discovered where she was at. Maybe it was the tantalizing mirror of water. It did attract her after all. Her ears stayed alert, but her nerves inside were buzzing. Hopefully it wasn't a wolf who would attack. Hopefully it wasn't anything that would attack. That was the last thing she needed. She kept her eyes peeled for a shadow that could emerge at any second.

He wasn't so much startled by her sudden movement as put on guard. She turned her head around, most likely feeling his gaze on her, trying to see who else was there. He must have gone unnoticed however, as she quickly turned her eyes back in front of her and stepped toward the pond. She was small, from what he could tell. His eye was slowly beginning to adjust to the lack of light, and he was able to see her a bit more clearly. She was thin, and rather lacking in muscle in his opinion, with large ears and a pointed snout. Judging by her appearance, she wasn't going to be much of a danger to him, however you never could be sure. The way she quickly settled down and focus her attention elsewhere gave him the impression she was not dangerous, and he instantly felt much more at ease. His brows rose, getting themselves back into position as his expression relaxed, his gaze inspecting her rather shamelessly. His eye followed along the lines of her body as he tilted his head, confused. Had she taken a liking to the area as well?
He must have been losing his mind. While he could normally focus quite easily, he found himself more curious about her than he should have been. It must have been the darkness, having her face and coat hidden from him made him eager to find out just what she looked like. He twisted his lips, unhappy with the situation. He glanced at the nearby den, she must have been getting ready to sleep too. Without looking back at her he kept his eye focused on the den, giving his tail a gentle swat to the side as the breeze shook the leaves of the trees again.
"Just going to pretend I'm not here, Miss?"
There was a hint of playful sarcasm in his voice as his eye drifted slowly toward the woman, his cold expression having remained in place. It didn't match, however he didn't seem to notice. He lifted his head regally before dipping his muzzle to give her a slight polite nod, hopefully she would be able to see the kind gesture properly.
"Good evening."
He sounded as if he were in a surprisingly good mood. His tone was as even and relaxed as usual, though the pitch was a bit different. Was he happy? Probably not, but it wouldn't hurt to let her think so. Rather than continue on he became quiet, leaning back on his haunches and wrapping his tail around his paws.

When the watcher finally revealed himself. She slightly smirked, at least she knew he wouldn't attack by the way he had introduced himself. She watched as he came out a little closer. She has become a bit more curious now that she didn't have to watch her back. He started up with a question that made her seem like she didn't care for others and that she was a spoiled brat. She shook her head, mustering up the voice she had managed to forget about over the few months. "I.... I wasn't going to do that..." it didn't come out smoothly. It took her a bit to collect her words. She sat up, "I mean... I knew you were there... I just wasn't sure of what would happen if I kept my back turned and if I would have kept and eye to eye... I could've seemed like a threat..." for not talking in such a long while, she sure had quiet a bit to explain herself.
She kept her head down, afraid that her explanation was more that was needed. She felt slightly nervous. She had avoided other wolves so such a long time, she had grown used to being alone. Although she had longed for another presence, she realized she had been acting quiet the opposite of what she had wanted. When he spoke up again, she smiled softly. "Good evening to you too... "' she simply responded. She wondered who the male was. And where he had come from. And why he stumbled across her mini territory. But at the same time, she was curious to learn more about him than the concern of her minuscule excuse of land.
The summer breeze swirled around the wolves, her fur softly swayed in harmony with the direction of the wind. Her green eyes glowed when she looked up towards the bright moon. "I'm Cierra... "' she introduced. She felt at ease, knowing her communication skills hadn't completely shriveled up.

His eyes having adjusted fully to the dull starlight, he managed to catch the slight movement of her lips, which curled up into a small smirk as he made his presence a bit more obvious. She seemed rather offended by what he had said, shaking her head as she stumbled over her words. It seemed it was his turn to smirk, and in this case he didn't bother hiding it. How charming. His tail gave a pleased wag, these clumsy insecure wolves were always much easier to manipulate. He wouldn't have to be on his toes so much with this one. "I mean... I knew you were there... I just wasn't sure of what would happen if I kept my back turned and if I would have kept and eye to eye... I could've seemed like a threat..." A calm, cheerful smile spread across his lips as she babbled on. She was innocent, borderline pathetic. She seemed a bit too old be be struggling so much with her words.
Even from a distance he could see she was tense, the way her muscles were angled and rigid, her head kept low. Maybe she was just unused to company? If she were really so afraid of him she would have backed away, or left herself in a less vulnerable position. He assumed there was a lot going on in her mind, the way the moonlight reflected off her eyes he was sure she was becoming lost in her own thoughts. He took this opportunity to creep closer, his large paws falling silent against the ground as he took a couple steps forward. Having managed to close the distance between them a bit, he went right back to examining her. She hadn't noticed his scrutinizing gaze yet, so hopefully no harm would be done. His silver eye darted to meet with her mint ones. Odd, he hadn't seen a wolf with green in their eyes before. "Good evening to you too..." He took note of how her words trailed off, just as they had before. She was uncomfortable, clearly unsure of herself. Part of him wanted to push and see just how uncomfortable she could get, however he decided against it. He had to mind his manners, after all.
"I'm Cierra..." As she turned her head to glance up at the sky the moon lit up her eyes in a rather stunning display. Amadeus grit his teeth, knitting his brows as he stifled a growl, his muscles becoming tight under his pelt. He didn't like it. Not in the least.
"Amadeus."
he replied coolly. Her muscles seemed to relax after she introduced herself, only making the larger wolf uncomfortable. He stood stiffly, tearing his eye away from her to stare off into the woods. Like a statue he froze awkwardly in place, he'd lost his train of thought and was now unsure of how to continue. His pointed fangs clenched tighter together. Suddenly he put his mask back on, looking rather composed as he turned his head to look back at her.
"I didn't interrupt did I? You seem to be... caught up in your own world, over there."
He tilted his head at her, his confusion much more evident in his voice than on his face.

She could feel her social skills starting to come back. It was a nice change to talk to someone. When she hadn't in a whle. She knew he could tell she was bit nervous. So she decided to change her attitude, "no, you didn't, don't worry" she started to reply and speak up like she used to. Her voice started to flow with ease, not like how she first spoke to him. She felt like her intro was a bit scratchy. But at least nshe can make up for it now.
In fact, she could feel more than her social skills returning. She could feel her personality starting to reblossom. Being alone for quiet some time made her almost loose who she was. It was an odd feeling. Her nerves shook inside, but she kept her outside exterior smooth and relaxed. A small smile crept across her face when she felt the slow return. Who knew a personality could disappear over time, but reestablish with a simple hello. "I was debating on going to sleep. But I suddenly don't feel as tired" she began to speak with confidence. Now her curiosity started to peak further.
She lifted her hind paw and scratched behind her ear, she had to do something that would male her seem less nervous. Even if she didn't feel like it, she knew her body actions spoke the opposite. "So what drove you to this small part?" she questioned. Now it was her turn to try to figure out more. Her tail swayed easily, back and forth, back and forth. She loved the summer nights that obtained cool breezes, and a moon light so bright her eyes could reflect. Her green eyes usually come around at night when her personality changes. And her dull yellow eyes are around the day. She wished it was opposite.

"No, you didn't, don't worry." Her voice was gaining strength, which honestly was a bit of a let down for Amadeus. As relaxed as her posture was, he couldn't help but feel she was still uncomfortable somehow... What was this gut feeling he had? His nose twitched. Her scent. He could smell just how nervous she really was. Was she putting on a show for him? "I was debating on going to sleep. But I suddenly don't feel as tired." Meaning she didn't want him leaving just yet.
"Oh?"
he questioned her innocently, as if he were clueless to the reason why she had decided to stay awake. She was getting less nervous, apparently comfortable enough to scratch her ear. The scent was fading, she was gaining confidence. It didn't matter much to him, in his opinion he still had the upper-hand in the situation. "So what drove you to this small part?" She was curious of him? His stiffened ears twitched as he stood quietly for a moment, rather surprised. So she was going to make small talk with him. She must not have been a loner long if she was so eager to have company.
"Hn... fate perhaps? 's not often a wolf is so willing to speak with me. These outcasts are all busy chasing their tails, worried about their own little games."
He gave her a sly smile, purposefully putting emphasis on the word fate. It had come to his attention over time that lone wolves were much more irritating to deal with than pack wolves, even if the pack was angry with you for trespassing. Outcasts tore at each other constantly, trying to thin out the competition. But really, wasn't he the same way? So caught up in his own affairs that the rest of the world meant little to him? The thought had never occurred to him. Mentally he nodded to himself, this 'Cierra' was a welcome change, a fresh face. Even if she was a bit awkward in his opinion, so far he was enjoying her company more than most others he met. Perhaps it was because he knew he was in the driver's seat. He could direct the conversation any way he wished, and while normally he felt burdened by responsibility, this wasn't enough weight to cause him to feel trapped.
"I don't know, to be honest. I was searching for a place to rest and my paws carried me here. It isn't as if the area has some special meaning to me."
His eye drifted down to the water, watching its reflection.
"It's a nice spot though. I have no intention of leaving now that I've found it."
His tired gaze remained fixed on the pond's surface. It didn't matter to him that she had gotten there first. If she decided to stay she was welcome to, however if she had a problem with his company she could leave. Though he doubted she did, the way her tail wagged back and forth cheerfully.

Her nose slightly wiggled when he mentioned it being fate was why he had stumbled across this patch. Was fate really how he had described it? Interesting choice of words. It amused her in a way. She liked having this strange wolf around. It gave her a little more to look forward to if he had decided to truly stick around. She had been alone for too long, and now since someone had actually taken the time to talk to her and not run her off, it gave her a good feeling. A feeling she hadn't felt since she left.
Her ear flicked back when he mentioned his stay being permanent. She didn't have a problem with that, but she also had the feeling that he was going to be the open ruling the small territory. And with that, she felt rather irritated. But she pushed it off her mind, as a fight isn't a way to make an acquaintance. Her natural personality was friendly, not a fighter. Sometimes she resented that about herself. "Not that I don't appreciate you company, but if you plan to stay. And I was the one that found it, I don't mind sharing, but as long as my den is still mine... Then it should be fine..." she didn't want to come off rude, but at the same time she didn't want to come off like a complete weakling.
She didn't mind that he was here. In fact having the company of another wolf was comforting. She wasn't the type to want to spend the rest of Kherson life wandering alone. Also, she wasn't like most outcast wolfs she come across. Rude, snappy, territorial and intimidating. She was opposite, she was kind, doesnt chase everyone off, and doesnt mind sharing her space. As long as some boundaries are established while meeting.
Her eye brow raised a bit, wondering what kind of a response she would get. She knew at first she came off useless and weak. But she wasn't. At least she had some use to her old pack.

He couldn't help but feel satisfied as her ears flicked back. Was she going to argue with him? There really wasn't much she could do, unless she had some hidden talent he was aware of. He would have no trouble overpowering her and taking the small area for himself. "Not that I don't appreciate you company..." Of course she would stick up for herself. While it would have surprised him a minute or two ago, she certainly seemed to have enough fire in her to at least try and hold her ground. His ear gave a gentle flick as he listened, rather interested in what she had to say. "But if you plan to stay. And I was the one that found it, I don't mind sharing, but as long as my den is still mine... Then it should be fine..." He did his best to look confused as he strode over to stand beside her, there didn't seem to be a bit of tension in his body. He was completely relaxed, though he wasn't sure she would be so comfortable with him so close to her. Only half a step away from her he stopped, lowering his head to bring it closer to her level. Flashing a charming grin his tail wagged slowly back and forth.
"I believe you misunderstand me, Cierra."
Her name rolled off of his tongue easily, being tasted in his mouth as some sort of experiment. Despite his easy going smile, his tone was oddly dark, and rather serious.
"'d be rather ungentlemanly for me to sleep inside while leaving you out in the elements, now wouldn't it? Of course you'll be using the den."
There was something suspicious about the way he spoke, he sounded insincere. He did not like being told what would and would not be happening. Not when the wolf calling the shots was in such a lowly position. She was a loner, and a female at that. What gave her the right? He looked away from her, his expression becoming serious once more.
"I have no problem sleeping outside. So don't worry."
He suddenly sounded much calmer, these words sounding considerably more honest.

She watched as he made his way over to her. He stood closely, she wondered why he moved from his original position. Most wolves would be untrusting of the actions he had made. Moving in closer, deciding to stay in the place she claimed as hers. Most wolves would run him off or fight him. But she wasn't. Why? She hadn't a clue.
He must have been trusting of her, as he was in a completely vulnerable spot if some wanted to attack. Or maybe he just underestimated her size. In her pack she fought back to her father, sometimes she couldn't take the abuse her father had liadout day by day. Sometimes she felt like she had the bravery to fight back, and leave her scar on the face of the brutal pack leader. She usually fought back, she was swifter than the leader. She is lighter to carry. As he was not.
When he spokeabout being a gentleman, and letting her sleep inside while he slept outside,it made her feel a hint of guilt. Now she felt like the unfair one, "well, I didnt't mean foryou to have to sleep outside... I just didnt wantto give it up. Its roomy..." she muttered. She looked away as she spoke. Her reflection in the pond rippled from previous interuptions of the ponds peaceful atmosphere. She was trying to think of a way foor them to both have shelter while they slept. She mentioned before, she didn't mind sharing, but sharing her den? It had the room to house two wolves. It was a rather large place to sleep. But she wondered if it was even worth mentioning.
