The sun's first rays began to shine down on Lamar Valley, lighting the grassy plain land and the serene river that flowed through it. At first glance, the area seemed void of wildlife, quiet and still. However, if one looked closer, two forms could be seen nuzzled within the thick grass's depths, both becoming awake.
The first was Zey, the older of the two sisters, a female wolf with an ivory pelt. Her head raised from the damp grass and she silently pulled herself to her feet, shaking off the dew that had collected on her snowy hide. The she-wolf's hazel eyes turned down to the lean red form several feet off from herself, a look of disapproval tinting their gaze.
"Calypso. Wake up."
Zey's voice was almost whisper like, even lower in volume than normal. This was due to the fact that neither of them belonged in this territory, the eastern pack's kingdom. They were loners, rouges even and not welcome. But here they were anyway. Once the female had a chance to check for others nearby she could be less on edge. For now, however, caution was her way.
The other sister whined softly, the sound high pitched and a complaint at being awoken from her comfortable rest. Calypso raised her narrow head, eyes still closed and brow furrowed. About to protest, she then thought better of it and with a huffy sigh, began to drag her feet underneath her. Standing now on all fours, the younger she-wolf stretched, her long body expelling itself of all previous exhaustion. The faint outlines of her ribs were visible against Calypso's sleek red and white coat, along with the bumpy ridge of her spine along the dorsal area of her back. The spring season had been harsh on their food source. Luckily though, with summer here, it shouldn't be difficult to put on the weight she had lost.
Opening her rich mahogany eyes, Calypso shot her sister a grumpy glare. However, her foul mood would only be temporary. As soon as she was fully awake, the she-wolf would be back to her usual, perky self. Zey suppressed a growl of her own and instead allowed her icy tail a flick of annoyance...

Thor raised his hind leg and emptied the last of his bladder’s contents upon the bark of a tall lodgepole pine. Letting his limb drop to the ground, Thor inspected his third marking of the day. It smelled strongly of what Thor could only describe as Thor. Giving off a powerful alpha male scent, it would warn outcasts and loners from miles around.
Thor gave himself a satisfied shake, letting his naturally abundant mane fall back into place. The big brute of a wolf flexed his wings, which were big folds of leather perched upon his grey back. Situating them so that they bathed his head and shoulders in shade, Thor turned his dark red-brown eyes to his valley. Lamar Valley. Although some might have seen beautiful swaths of rich green grass, dotted with deer, marked by slow-moving streams and peaceful groups of trees, Thor’s calculating gaze saw this: food, which was currently in good supply. Land, which would need the utmost care as newcomers flowed in. And… a challenge. Thor’s pink tongue slipped out to swipe over his lips; he felt the familiar scales that encased his muzzle, and tasted a hint of blood from his last meal of rabbit. Five years old, and he would rule his first true pack. No, he didn’t consider last year’s motley crew a pack; besides, that was in different lands, and those wolves were much too young and rebellious. This was his land, the Eastern land, and Thor knew it inside out. He knew it was slightly drier than other lands, that it was slightly warmer and with thicker grass.
Planting his feet, making his burly frame look even more immovable, Thor whipped his tail and its clubbed end slammed into the ground with a bang. “Sira!?” he roared. He had not meant to yell quite so loud. His rough voice just tended to project, or at least that’s what Thor said to those poor souls that happened to be sitting near him. “Sira, what are you doing in those bushes back there? C’mon, get your butt out here!” Thor growled; to outsiders it may appear that Thor was legitimately angry with the poor she-wolf, but in all honesty it was just the way Thor spoke: bluntly, and sometimes rudely, but rarely with bad intentions.

Sira lifted her head from her slumber in her den, she heard her name, and it didn't sound friendly. Then she realized it was Thor. She stood up immediately and bolted towards his direction. She ran over the roots that stood out of the ground, the wind blew past her, her feathers blew carelessly, she smiled when she felt them delicately caress the fur behind her ear. After all, Xane had given them to her.
She ran through the trees, weaving in and out with ease. Stepping through puddles, making the softer splash. "Almost there Thor! I'm coming!" she knew she was getting closer. It wasn't long before she saw his wings over horizon. She was defiantly close.
Going in for the final leap to his aid, she made a hurdle over the bush he was standing in front of. But her foot bumped into something that wasn't quiet leaves. In result, she tumbled over and rolled in the dirt and leaves. "What on the world was that!?" she whipped around in frustration.

The two sisters gazed with hostility at each other for a moment, before Zey turned sharply away, spinning on her ivory haunches. They didn't have time for this. Currently on Eastern Pack territory, they were in a dangerous spot. Luckily however, they were on the border and could be back in the outlands in the matter of an hour or so. That is, if they moved now and knocked all this childishness off. Besides, Zey could feel the raw hunger chewing at her stomach. It was much to dangerous to hunt here for now, what with the Eastern Pack most likely up and preparing for breakfast. Her and her sister would have to wait until they got back into the outlands before her hunger could be satisfied.
Turning to look over her shoulder at Calypso, Zey shot the other female a pointed gaze. Come on.
Calypso, though she thought of a snappy retort, kept her mouth shut and followed obediently, as her sister broke into a ground-covering lope. She hardly ever opposed Zey and not because she was necessarily frightened of what her sister would to to opposition. Calypso liked to follow. She preferred it, really.
The two moved through the thick grass, the only sound they made was a rustling from their bodies rubbing against the foliage's stalks. They weaved their ways through the field-like plains, Zey loping a tail's distance ahead, Calypso following easily, her long legs stretching far before her.
It didn't seem to be long before they reached the edge of the Eastern territories, the river creating a border. Zey paused once to look back, confirming that her sister still followed, before plunging into the water. It was cool, but not exceptionally deep in this area. The female's paws moved against the smooth rocks at the bottom of the river bottom, struggling to grip as the current gently prodded her down stream. However, it was only moments before Zey crawled up onto the shore, dripping.
Calypso came next, scrambling up onto the land. They were no longer in Eastern Territory... (moving over to the outlands section of the forum)

Thor watched as Sira tumbled out of the bushes before his feet. He released a sigh, and bent down to prod the disarrayed female up to her feet. “A branch, Sira. You tripped over a branch.” Thor’s exasperated look shifted to one of concern. “Look, sweetie,” (it had become Thor’s habit to call her this) “I appreciate how fast you respond to my call, but really you must look where you’re going.” Since he had stumbled upon Sira weeks earlier, she had been his closest ally, and it seemed the presence of a she-wolf somewhat softened Thor’s harsh exterior. Giving Sira a caring pat with the edge of his right wing, Thor turned to the sinking sun.
He quickly ran his mind over the things he had done today; marked the territory, caught lunch, explored the far edge of the land. It had been a productive day, but Thor felt there was still unfinished business. He wanted more wolves, that’s what it was; Sira and himself made a good pair, but he had the feeling that Sira wasn’t ready to have a mate. That was perfectly fine with Thor, he wasn’t eager to hook up with the nearest she-wolf and raise a legion of pups. But Sira was a good wolf, and he liked her.

She looked down at the ground with embarrassment. She has been quiet clumsy lately. But what could she do? She looked up at Thor as he explained the meaning behind her fall. And she nodded, it was a branch; a rather large one, but it was a branch. She sighed, "I know Thor... Sometimes I just forget to watch..." which was true. When she is on a mission, she forgets every now and again to watch every detail.
She wondered what there was to do today, hunting most likely. But they didn't have to do much, only two wolves reside in this territory for now. She wished she could help Thor find more wolves. Maybe even help him find a mate. She would volunteer, but her heart still aches for her banished young love from her old pack.
"What should we do today?" she looked up at him and her tail tip wagged. She has been happy that he accepted her, and she loves to help him with whatever she can. He gives her a freedom that she never had when she was younger. Her father was such a tyrant. She doesn't regret leaving his terrible pack and life style.

Naavren's limbs weigh to the ground while his ribs stick out as he walks through the stifling hot sun and tall grass. His tongue lolls out of his mouth trying to cool his body heat. He spots a tree and lays down thankful for the shade. He would have used his power for shade, but he was too weak at the moment. As he lies down he spots some wolves in the distance that are facing in the opposite direction of where he is. By the smell of it, the large brute is the alpha and he clearly doesn't want any intruders. His eyes focus on the female and he gives a quiet chuckle as he sees the two wolves converse. ' Funny pair they are. ' he thinks to himself. For about a year he's been traveling farther away from his previous pack. The farther the better. Even though the obstacles have been rough he's managed to survive on rodents and other small prey. Recently he has not been able to catch anything, his poor hunting skills have contributed to that.
He knows it's risky to steal from other wolves especially on claimed territory, but he hasn't eaten in weeks and his stomach feels like it is going to split open this second. He has no problem with patients, so he waits knowing that wherever there are other wolves food is close by. He crouches down low to the grass, his fur blending into the brush, and crawls closer to the wolves. Not to close to be detected, but just close enough to get a good look. He only senses the two wolves, not a large pack, so he should be safe to pop in and out their territory for a quick snack and then be on his way.

Thor was musing over Sira's question when he detected something. He sensed it not with sight, nor scent, but sound. He turned his head, catching a glimpse of motion. It was a blue jay, opening its mouth to release another round of raucous laughter. Then the bird took off from its perch atop a nearby tree, flapping over Thor's head. He suddenly snapped out his left wing, extending it to its full height. The blue jay, not expecting the quick move, thumped against the brown leather. Thor quickly swung his clubbed tail around, reviving an electric charge which crackled and shimmered in the air.
He missed, and cursed silently to himself as he watched the bird regain its balance and fly away, screeching. "I hate those stupid birds," he growled. They made hunting more difficult, and were altogether annoying. Thor glared at the blue jay as it made its way over to the top of a pine tree a short distance away. It started up the racket again, but this time Thor noticed the bird's gaze was not pointed toward him and his partner. It was directed somewhere in the bush, where it would be easy for something to hide.
Thor looked at Sira. "Maybe blue jays are good for something after all. Let's see what he's squawking about." Thor set off after the blue jay at a leisurely pace, watching as it saw him coming and quickly flapped away. Thor continued to the edge of the trees, where a patch of thick brush provided good cover for even large animals. Thor lowered his head, his steely eyes peering into the vegetation. "Let's see what's hiding in there, shall we?" Thor tensed his muscles, and then propelled himself forward with powerful haunches. He tore through the bushes, tossing his head which bore the horns of a bighorn sheep, slashing his clubbed tail through the bush, flapping his massive bat-like wings.

She watched as he messed with the blue jay bird. She didn't have anything against them, but he did. She shrugged at his question, not really having an opinion. Then he mentioned the presence of an intruder. Her ears perked and she started to sniff the air. She nodded when he started to take off. His powerful strength of his wings and tail made has taught her to keep a safe distance as he tok off.
She wondered who or what could be disturbing their afternoon. Maybe it would be another wolf to join. But as of right now, they are trespassers.

Naavren watches as the large male wolf tries to catch the bird in annoyance. He raises one eyebrow as he sees the electricity emit from his tail. This wolf was not one to mess with, but here he was a useless wolf hiding in the brush. He was surprised to see the bird escape. As the bird flew over to where he was, it posed another problem. The bird mocked him, happy to stur up trouble and reveal his hiding place. Naavren growled in irritation as his lips curl showing his carnivorous teeth. He saw the large wolf coming closer and inched his way on the other side of the tree to get out of the brutes way. As he saw the large wolf plunge in the brush next to him he was unsure what to do next.
Naavren has no intention of fighting, he sizes himself up and the other wolf is about three times his size. His mind whirls thinking of what to say that could save his hide from being ripped to pieces. Then it dawns on him, " Those are some magnificent horns you have there. What is that, part sheep?" he's unsure of how the wolf will react to this approach so he tenses his legs ready to high tail it out of there if things go wrong. 'Come on, look this way.' he says in his thoughts. Only a foolish wolf would do what he's about to do, and it might not get him anywhere, but in a life and death situation a ten second head-start would be helpful. He'll wait to see what the other wolf will do and then he'll paralyze him and run.

Thor turned around to see a wolf standing two feet from him in the grass. “Those are some magnificent horns you have there. What is that, part sheep?” To be quite frank, Thor was taken aback by the words. Here was this wolf he’d never met before, standing with all four paws on his territory, cowering before a hulking alpha with wings, horns, and bit of static electricity. And what does he say? Nice horns, dude.
“Yes, moron, now tell me what you’re doing on my turf,” replied Thor, snapping the end of his tail (which, along with being an expression of annoyance, was a signal for Sira to come forth). Thor then realized that the stranger’s gaze was unusually steady, almost penetrating in its intensity. He remembered, too late, that even the most ordinary looking wolf could bear the oddest power. Oh crud.

Sira flinched as the rogue wolf spoke. He had some guts talking to Thor like that. But she found it was plain rude and disrespectful. She already didn't like him. As if it weren't a good enough incentive with the irritation her leader felt. When he signaled her to come forth, she nodded. The hair on the back on her neck and down her spine raised. Her eyes turned a a brilliant and bright green, signaling anger and irritation. She bared her teeth, and snarled. "What is lone insignificant wolf like you wandering in a territory that isn't yours?" she questioned. Her eyes glistened with the protection she felt for her home.
She could sense that Thor felt an uneasy emotion towards this wolf. Maybe it was because he had stuck up for himself. But he was a normal wolf. As was she. She had no problems standing out for her pack. "Thought you could steal food that wasn't yours and get aeay from with it?" she knew that is why he was there. She was an outcast once too, she knows exactly how he feels. But she never stole. "A wolf that doesn't hunt for itself shouldn't even waste time with living... Useless rat!" her temper rose inch my inch. Her claws ached to teach him a lesson. But even as her inner warrior longed to feel the blood of a stealing outcast, she couldn't bring herself to actually fall through with the action.
Her teeth glimmered, she felt pressure to attack for Thor. Showing him she could have some worth to his pack. But she waited for his command. After all, he had only asked her to come forth, not attack.

'Call me a moron again, oh wait you can't.'he says in his head. As soon as Naavren's stare hit the alpha wolf he could feel a pang in his head from the side effects. One, he counts in his head. His golden stare jerks over to the hotheaded female, he wasn't going to freeze her but he has enough time to have a response. He doesn't respond with anger or aggression but lets out a calm and tiered voice, " I've been told that all my life," Two. "How would you react if you were kicked out of your pack less than a year old, threatened by death from your own father." Three. "I do what I can to survive." Four. He's having trouble talking because by this time his head is pounding. "I've had to travel more than half of these mountains to get to where I am. Word spreads quick when a wolf is exiled. I'll see you later." Five.
More than half his seconds are up and he doesn't give her time to respond. He uses his last bit of energy to cloud the two wolves in a flash of bright light, hopefully stunning their eyes. Six. His feet push off in the direction of their territory, right to the meat pile. By the count of ten he's already there. He knows stealing is low for even him. He only takes a mouth full, barely effecting the pile since his mouth is a small size. He makes a lone shadow wolf putting his scent on it and sends it running across the woods to make a false trail. By that time the shadow wolf disappears it'll be out of the territory. He hides his tracks and scent to his area waiting in the forest. He didn't want to leave this pack. Clearly they need more wolves, and plus he hasn't had this much action in a long time. He pulls his paws over his head trying to scrape out the headache. Overcome by exhaustion he stays put in his hideout skillfully out of sight and smell, almost as if he wasn't there at all.

Thor wasn't surprised to find his limbs immobile. However, this did not make him any less angry; taking away even a small portion of Thor's power, like the ability to move, stirred up a rage the alpha hadn't felt in a long time. A growl rumbled in his throat, deep and ominous, but his jaws could not open so he was forced to swallow the sound. Able to move only his eyes, Thor tracked the rogue through a flash of light. Being adept at light control himself, Thor quickly bathed the outcast's fleeting form in a glowing spotlight, so that Sira could hopefully catch the blasted thief. The wolf soon disappeared from sight, and that was when Thor regained control over his limbs.
Whirling around with a rippling snarl, Thor saw a flash of dark, the passing form of a wolf. Quickly seeing through the apparition, having made a good deal of them himself, Thor shouted to Sira: "He's after the meat!" Sira's aggression toward the intruder had very much impressed Thor, but he'd have to tell her so later, because at the moment he had a trespasser on his hands.
Thor took two flying leaps, and with a few powerful snaps of his wings he was aloft. He flew over the place where they had stashed the remnants of a small deer, and found that a piece was missing, even though it was only a small one. Thor turned away from the meat pile and caught a breeze, which would hopefully help him stay in the air longer. Riding the wind, Thor scanned the ground below him. He would trust Sira to do the tracking on foot, while he made sure the thief didn't get away unnoticed.

She wanted to maul him into the ground when she came paralyzed. Her eyes formed into small slits. Irritation boiled inside her. She knew he wouldn't make it out alive if he ever got caught. When she could finally feel movement in her body, she let out a deep rumble. Which was even a strange action for her to do.
When Thor made his resort her ears flatten. When he tore through the forest to follow the trail, she made her way on foot. She followed where he leader went, he had a better view than she did. Her nose began to pick up the trail he had gone down, and Thor was right in front of her.
