Posting Tables

Soooo I was wondering peoples opinions on posting tables. Ive only seen them on a few sites, and kinda like them. Some of you might not have seen them before.

Pros:
Customizable to each character
makes it look pretty

Cons:
can get annoying to use each post, and keep track of the codes
sometimes the images become too much and hurt your eyes

To those that haven't seen them before, I made an example of what they can look like. Naturally, you can change the format using different codes if you know how to use them. Please dont steal my codes/post tables, it will be easy for me to tell if you do.

But anyway, on a tad more serious note, I used tables exclusively on one site I use to frequent, slightly different for each character, nothing I didn't find to fancy, though the font was torture to some people's eyes. Here's one I made for a character named Oshiro:

Woah I can see why you got complaints about the font:p

what code did you use to make the table that thin? For some reason my tables keep getting stretched all the way across the forum, and arent nice and skinny like how they usually are (like yours is)

I've since changed the font to Monotype Corsiva, a little fancy, but it doesn't seem to hurt anyone's eyes as far as I can see.

My coding skills suck, so you might not get a straight answer about it from me, just warning in advance. =)

But in answer...

I centered the picture in the table after adding in the codes to form the table, if that makes any sense, but didn't really do any centering on the rest. However the forum I used it on was a pretty thin board... Okay, I don't know, sorry. =(

Neat! the in character text for Zalenus' posting table is in Monotype Corsiva as well!

The centering thing might be it, I'll find some of my meant-to-be-thin tables and try the centering image thing. Hopefully it will work haha

unfortunately, the background color code doesnt work on a lot of proboards forums, this on included. there must be some sort of setting. [bg=000000] would make the table box black, rather than the color of this forum (green), which could add variety to post tables if more people start using them.

It would be interesting to see what the forum background color for a table would look like if you change it. Just you know, nothing horribly drastically deviating form the main color of the forum, like, bright red on lime green, eww. I also don't like to bright colors for font. The forum I was on had a really faint color for normal text, so it was hard to read kind of, so I made my text black to make it stand out.

I've never used posting tables. I'd kinda like to give 'em a try, (or maybe use something else to spiffy up my posts) but I have no idea how to make them.

@sand- I think that on this forum, Black, White, various shades of Green, and gray backgrounds would look decent. Bright highlighter colors like pink, yellow, orange, and blue... not so much haha

@opal- Mhmm, I'm betting that not too many people on this forum know how to make them. Perhaps I'll set up a thread where people can place orders for post tables. Would this thread go in 'The Market' board you think?

Hehe, I don't know if you should or not.... I'm not sure if anyone'll pay for them, tho, because I think most people don't use posting tables.

I might try the gray backgrounds for one for a test, if you don't mind me using your idea of that, Matrix. ^^ I'll ask first before I get any other crazy ideas.

The background codes Ive tried havent worked. If you find one that works with this forum, it would be awesome if you would tell me it;)

For Oshiros photo, did you find this on the internet, did someone make it for you, or did you make it? i absolutely love it!

Thanks. ^^ I'll be sure to let you know if there's some darn color out there that works for the background.

As for Oshiro's photo, I found that on the internet, it's very... alluring. When I first saw it I'm like, 'That's PERFECT!" =)
