NAME :: amadeus
GENDER :: male
AGE :: three years
TYPE :: 1/4 timber wolf - 3/4 maned wolf
PACK :: none
RANK :: rogue
ITEMS ::
APPEARANCE :: the first thing most notice about this wolf his his extraordinary size. due to his maned wolf blood, he is much larger than other breeds. standing 41" at the shoulder, with long, slender limbs, tall pointed ears, and a pointed, fox-like face, he often has to crane his neck to level his eyes with other wolves. his build is willowy and thin, wiry muscle hidden beneath his relatively short coat. his tail is exceptionally long, having to be carried carefully to avoid dragging it on the ground. the fur on most of his body is short, revealing every curve and ripple of muscle beneath his pelt. around his face however it is much longer, and a dark mane travels along the back of his neck and spine. his tail is bushy and soft, thick-furred in contrast to the rest of him. his large paws look awkward with his stick-like legs, and give the impression he still has a bit of growing to do, despite the fact he's reached his maximum height.
his right eye is clouded over with white, and is completely blind, being held shut most of the time, a thin scar running just below his left eye. his gaze is harsh and silver, his eyes almond-shaped and turned at an angle, giving him a constant serious expression. black bands wrap around his muzzle, the fur on his forelegs, main, and ears also being black. raccoon-like rings mark his tail, and white fur adorns his chin, chest, and stomach. the rest of his coat is soft blue in color, and rather bristly to the touch. however beneath those bristles it is soft and plush, much like the longer fur on his body. a bright red garnet has been grafted into his right hind leg, a silver chain wrapped carefully around his neck. two silver bands act as earrings in his left ear, twin feathers woven into his neck fur. long ivory fangs peek from his upper jaw, and long black cat-like claws come out from his paws.
TEMPERMENT :: amadeus takes himself much too seriously. he never acts with out first thinking through the many outcomes of his decisions, and seems to believe everyone else is the same way. he rarely takes the time to step out of his own self and see life through another wolf's eyes. self-improvement is his focus. family is seen as little more than a tool used to get through daily life, hunting is easier, and there is safety in numbers. hard-headed and strict, he rarely changes his opinion on anything, however due to the manners beaten into his skull as a child, he will begrudgingly do whatever is asked of him should a wolf in a higher position issue a command.
he never seems to get anyone's jokes other than his own. most would expect such an intelligent wolf to come up with rather entertaining, sarcastic jokes, however he seems able to only be able to come up with sorry puns. he has been known to say that playing, messing around, and sitting around joking are all wastes of time, so why he even bothers joking now and then even he doesn't know. amadeus is very much a stick-in-the-mud, wanting everyone to follow the rules perfectly. despite his love for order and harshly enforced law, he can't seem to stand routine. he must be doing something different every day, and doesn't like having his week planned out for him. doing things spur of the moment always seems to work best for him, though he seems to always have "the big picture" in mind.
some would think such a high-strung, selfish, arrogant wolf to treat his fellows poorly, however this is not the case. amadeus is always polite, proving that chivalry is far from dead. while he is always careful to treat females respectfully, he still manages to be awkward around them. he seems to lose his cool rather quickly, ruining his composure and practiced aloofness when a woman is around. realizing this, he does what he can to avoid females. when it comes to other men he is much more relaxed. he is always ready with advice when it is asked of him, but tends to keep his mouth shut otherwise. he is an observer more than anything else, studying the world around him. he finds it much easier to learn about a wolf by simply watching them than asking questions.
he is certainly one to watch out for should you get on his bad side. it takes effort to wear his patience thin, and once that patience is gone he will quickly lash out, snapping his jaws and swiping his claws at anything that comes too close. when he feels himself becoming frustrated he more than often removes himself from the situation, retreating to recollect his thoughts. his strong opinions, family views, overall self-centered attitude, and aloof nature make it difficult for him to settle into pack life.
