| Illyrian scrambled to her feet, free at last! She had taken the risk, unknowingly at first, having charged in without fear after prey, of having entering pack territory. This was the first time she had encountered the scent since her running away from her natal pack. And the she wolf had also unwittingly, in her puppy dash for food, gotten stuck in a swampy like area, with quicksand! She has quickly sunk down to her heels and that was when she found out her actual predicament. Her prey had escaped her easily while she struggled and yelped rather loudly. She was half afraid a pack wolf would discover her in her embarrassment. Flapping madly with her wings, tail wagging furiously she had finally gotten free from that evil muddy crap. Albeit, her snow white fur patterned with flares of blue and green up to her thighs were now muddy. But the hyper energy ball that Illyrian was was only happy to be able to fly and run around and be alive.
I beat you evil quicksand mud thingy! HAHAHAHAHA! Oh how quickly things changed for the two year old wolf. Just as she was ringing out in cackling laughter at her joyous escape, her stomach grumbled rather loudly. Stopping, she almost comically drooped her head and whimpered like a domestic dog. "I need some food here, if only I could eat plants, not...,- she muttered to herself. Sniffing, she finally realized how far she had been into the pack's territory. She was practically right in the middle! Not on the edge, like she had carelessly thought. A cold breeze slipped through the air, down Illyrian's spine, reminiscent of winter, but in actuality a real thing due to Illyrian's weather affinity. It only highlighted to her that she had to get out. She still had fears, and occasionally a nightmare of her rioting original pack. All had been fine until she tried to summon lightning. Shivering now, trembling in both fear and cold, the she wolf spread her large wings and slowly ascended into the air with the help of a light thermal. As long as multiple currents of the warm air kept her going, Illyrian need not flap too often keep her aloft, but she was not a bird, who could effortlessly glide on these thermals, she was wolf, and still did need to flap due to her weight.
La la la Please no scary pack wolf who wants to eat me La la la... Already sailing a good few meters above the tree tops, Illyrian landed in a field of geysers. She loved geysers, such magnificent sprays of hot water! She just didn't like to touch them, ow. She had no want to boil herself. Trekking much more carefully, slowly, the she wolf's eyes of golden fire red clearly: vigilant and half frightened. Just as she walking, right in front of her a geyser erupted in all its violent, and glorious, beauty. "Woah...," was all Illyrian could manage as she gazed upon the towering pillar of rushing white water. She stepped back, her white fur being blown about by the sheer intensity of energy right in front of her face. And as soon as it began, it ended, returning to where it had come from. And Illyrian just sat there, a sitting duck fro whoever would, want or needed to find her.
Holy cow that was EPIC!
Lyrics: A super duper epicness has erupted, now it's time to see whether defeat or victory will be given to me! Notes: N/A OOC: Just a a note, I put Illyrian in here to try and join the Southern pack. =) And excuse her if she is being over-dramatic, as always, XD.

Ayria was alone for the first time since she had gained her mate and rank. Well, not quite alone, but she was lacking in lupine company at the moment. One other animal was with her: a flying squirrel she had discovered and bonded with wit her animal whispering ability. The small creature was riding atop Ayria's head like some bizarre hairpiece, curled up between her ears as though that were the safest place in the world. The she-wolf didn't mind: she found the creature cute, and it wouldn't have made much of a meal, anyway.
As she traveled, she picked up a strange scent. The scent was unmistakably lupine, though it did not belong to any wolf she had ever encountered. The she-wolf's hackles rose and a quiet, low growl escaped her throat. A strange wolf in their territory! And they had pups to protect!
The alphess rushed toward the source of the scent, barely heeding the pain in her head from the squirrel clinging for dear life as she sped across the territory. Her wings were fully spread, her fur on end as her body instinctively attempted to make itself appear as large as possible. She continued at as fast a pace as she could mange, fully intent on confronting the other wolf.
Instead, she ended up confronting a dense patch of mud that had obviously been disturbed.
Ayria circled the muddy patch as much as she could without sinking into it herself. The scent definitely lead to the spot, but then it seemed to vanish into thin air.
A slight breeze ruffled her feathers, and her gaze lifted to the sky. Maybe that is what happened...
A powerful leap and several flaps of her wings saw her climbing up through the air. She rose to just above treetop level and looked around, heading toward the geysers where she thought she saw movement. She lowered to the ground as she approached the nearest of geysers and folded her wings close to her body, not wanting any stray water to land anywhere on her body.
The scent was faint, especially with the strong scents of her surroundings, but it was there, and she was able to track it a short distance through the basin, where she saw its source. It was indeed a rogue wolf, but...she had a hard time thinking this one would be a threat. The wolf seemed young, perhaps her own age, and she was quite alone. Also, as she approached, it became apparent to Ayria that the loner was frightened. The alphess's fur lay flat at this realization: this loner's situation wasn't much different from her own before she had joined the pack. Still, she had trespassed onto pack territory, and she couldn't be let off without a good explanation.
Ayria approached the loner, her tail and ears held high but her stance otherwise non-aggressive. She stopped a few body lengths away from the loner and gazed evenly at her, neither threatening ot welcoming her. She had to confirm the loner's intentions before she could decide how to take her presence on the pack's land.
"I assume by now you've realized where you are?"

| Shocked to hear a voice behind her, Illyrian's fur stood on end, and she yowled for what could probably be heard for a mile around. She visibly jumped in the air and when she turned around to face the perpetrator, her huge wings were spread fully, golden eyes wide, and jowls hanging open comically, with one paw raised in the air in her sitting position. Her ridiculous impulsiveness, even before she had seen the alphess in front of her, assumed a monster wanted to eat her. Too shocked to fly, Illyrian in a moment's notice was lying face down in the dirt, her paws outstretched beneath her, groveling to the wolf in front of her. Her groveling, even though her head was practically fully in the dirt, was clearly heard, -"PLEASE DO NOT EAT ME MRS.MONSTER THINGY! PLEASE DON'T EAT ME, WAHHHHHH!!!"
Please don't eat me, please don't eat, please...

Ayria jumped back when the other wolf's fur stood on end, and her hackles rose when the trespasser yowled. Her squirrel companion bolted away from the two wolves, likely to escape the sound. Ayria wasn't worried. She'd be back. Companion animals always came back.
In the meantime, the loner had turned to face her, and her expression was...comical, to say the least. Ayria fought to keep her own features serious at the trespasser's ridiculous pose.
And then the other she-wolf started groveling...
The alphess sighed, hackles flattening once more. "I'm no more of a monster than you, and I'm certainly not here to eat you." She approached the loner, though she still kept a small distance between their bodies. "What are you doing here? And, for that matter, what are you called?"

| Illyrian had kept her same position, but had stopped groveling after her outburst, until she heard the other she-wolf's reply to her groveling. Illyrian's first thought upon the reply: YAY! She won't eat me! And she's not a monster! Friend! At the turn of a dime, Illyrian was standing on her own four paws once more a mere distance from the alphess, her ears perked, and panting happily. Her gold eyes were gleaming in intense curiosity and genuine friendliness. The sun seemed to gleam brighter, as if the intensity of summer had returned for just a moment as Illyrian held her happy expression, and perhaps it did, her abilities becoming increasingly apparent. And at last in a high pitched voice filled with pleasure and happiness rung out, -"Yay! Thanks for not eating me Mrs.! My name's Illyrian! I got stuck in some Mean Mr.Mud, we'll, after I lost the prey I found!"
Maybe a new friend!

This wolf was...weird. Ayria didn't know how to put it any other way. She wasn't sure...Illyrian, was it? Well, she wasn't sure Illyrian realized where she was or how much danger she could conceivably be in. Still, once it was clear she wasn't lunch, the strange wolf was a happy one, and it was a very nice break from a certain antagonizing she-wolf in the pack.
I like her better than Moonrunner, already... Ayria felt back for thinking such a thing, but it was true. Ever since Ayria had become alphess, Moonrunner saw to it that she never forgot how much she - Moonrunner - believed she deserved the position instead. It was exhausting and aggravating, but Ayria tried not to take the bait. She had other things to focus on that were much more important than bickering.
Like the stranger before her, and what was to be done with her.
"...You're welcome," she responded after a moment. "You are aware you're on Southern pack territory? Either you're extremely new to the pack, or you could be in danger." She frowned at that. Illyrian seemed like a harmless, overgrown pup - quite like herself on better days - and she loathed the thought of chasing her away. "What pack do you hail from? I can escort you to your own territory's border, if you'd like."

| Sunny-faced Illyrian was happy as pie until the she wolf reminded her she had trespassed quite abruptly into pack territory. If her fright and sudden happiness, she had forgotten all about that. Illyrian ears folded back lightly, and her eyes became puppy dog like, but not intentionally. She became slightly submissive, wishing to shrink away and pretend nothing had happened. It was rather embarrassing to the speedy she wolf. Than the fellow winged wolf in front of her frowned. Her ears folded back more tightly and her expression became concerned and uneasy. Not a good sign. Than she asked where she hailed form and offered to take her back there. Illyrian immediately in a soft tone, blubbered out, eyes downcast -"Sorry Mrs... I'll go away now if you want... I hail from no pack near here so ya...," Illyrian turned her slightly sorrowed yellow gaze on the lavender one of her fellow in front of her.
Maybe no new friend...

The stranger's personality seemed to change within a heartbeat of Ayria's words. The she-wolf in front of her went from upbeat and playful to sad and submissive. Then Illyrian offered to leave and mentioned that she had no pack. Ayria's heart went out to the other wolf. She had once known the feeling. Wolves were meant to be in packs, and when one was forced to be alone for any extended period of time, it was torture...except for a few poor souls who had learned to prefer the solitude for one reason or another. Illyrian didn't seem to be that type. She was the type who would be happiest close to her own kind.
The Southern pack could use some new members, if she's willing...
"Wait." The alphess responded, hopefully before Illyrian could make up her mind to leave. "If you have no pack, you could join ours. We could always use a new member."

| Just as Illyrian was about to turn around and fly off in a sad somberness, the other she-wolf seemed to reconsider something or the other. than, something totally unexpected to the blue and green sprinkled wolf. A possibility of joining the pack! Almost immediately, the impulsive wolf's golden eyes widened and shock and sheer giddiness overtook Illyrian. Facing the other she wolf, Illyrian wing's were full out spread and she was doing little hops in the air and screeching and laughing quite loudly at the same time, like an overgrown, overjoyed pup. You could see it all in her eyes: her gold irises shown like the sun at the high of noon, happiness and pleasure emanating. Her thoughts were a roller coaster, varying from ones like Yes, Yes, YES! to New friends and a new home, YAY! and finally No more ugly berries to eat for me! WOO HOO! Still jumping up and down, laughing rather crazily that even the Joker couldn't compare to her at the moment, Illyrian in a flabbergasted state sputtered out, though mostly comprehensible, -"YAY! YAY! YAY! Can I? Can I, please Ms.? Thank you so much! I owe you my life for saving me from eating those gross evil Mr.berries! Hehehe! I will not let you down if you let me join! Not even for a second!" And despite what seemed like total silliness, Illyrian was really truly in gratitude to this she-wolf, and would be, for a looonnnngggggg time.
YAY! YAY! YAY! WOO HOO! WHEEEEEEEE!

Wow, the other she-wolf sure knew how to switch emotional extremes at the drop of a rock. Ayria was impressed, and amused. She watched Illyrian's dance, suppressing a laugh as well as the urge to join in. There would be plenty of time for her to play later. Right now, she had to figure out the best way to introduce the pack's newest member to everyone else. Preferably before anyone else saw her out here and took for her a trespasser...which, admittedly, she had been up until this moment. Granted, Illyrian had yet to officially accept, but it was immediately made clear what her answer would be.
Illyrian finally spoke, and - of course - enthusiastically accepted the offer. Ayria gave her a small smile at her words. "All right, Illyrian, welcome to the pack. I'm sure you'll prove to be a more than worthy member." Especially compared to...someone...but Ayria wasn't going to let Moonrunner bring down her mood, especially when the other she-wolf wasn't even here. Instead, she gestured in the direction of the den. "Now that you're one of us, I should introduce you to the others."

| Now ceasing to jump around and yip like a puppy, Illyrian stood there watching the emotions and expressions on the she-wolf's face with intense curiosity. She cocked her head slightly, and still panting with happy eyes, smiled widely, almost a creepy grin. Illyrian noticed in a very near by tree, a tree squirrel, watching the two wolves cautiously, as if waiting for something. While perhaps the other she-wolf saw the squirrel as a squirrel, Illyrian could only hallucinate images of cartoon poultry in place of where she saw the squirrel. She was going to have squirrel breakfast, and just like that, her panting became more rapid and her mouth was watering wide open. Just as she was going to do a flying tackle in pursuit of the squirrel, the other she wolf responded to her. Shaking her head and closing her mouth, Illyrian listened intently, focused. And she was not disappointed.
WOO-HOO! BEST DAY EVER!!! How sweet you could not comprehend did the smooth words sound to Illyrian's erect ears. Her eyes widened and she yipped loudly, excited again. She leaped into the air once and than settled down again. Her high pitched voice ring out again, -"THAAAAANK YOUUUUU MRS.AWESOMENESS! I cant wait to meet the others!!!" Illyrian was energetic enough to chase her tail around like a pup, and as she chased her own tail, her coat became a racing blur of white, green and blue.
Get back here tail, haha!

For the moment, Illyrian had ceased her play and was watching Ayria, possibly trying to read her expression. Her attention was then diverted to something up in the tree, and Ayria turned to see a tree squirrel watching them. Illyrian looked as though she was going to try to catch the squirrel, but then turned to her. Her excitement shone through again as she responded, thanking Ayria and saying she couldn't wait to meet the others. Ayria laughed at that, and again when Illyrian started to chase her tail. She, at least, knew she was going to get on great with the newest member of their pack.
"This way." Ayria headed toward the dens. Hopefully at least Brock would be around. And, hopefully, he wouldn't mind that she had accepted a new member into the pack.

| Stopping her childish play, Illyrian heard the multiple sweet laughs of her counterpart whipping through her ears. Illyrian could only smile far ear to ear at that. The wolf was a amiable one, and one she could get along with at least reasonably well at that! Now that the other packmate had stopped laughing and was leading Illyrian to the densite, she couldn't help but notice she had forgot to ask sometihng of the other wolf in all her bustle and hurry and emotion. "Hey, uh, I don't want to be rude or anything, but what's your name? I didn't catch it at first," - inquired Illyrian, slightly unsure. As she padded behind the other winged female, Illyrian could feel the anticipation growing like fire inside of her. She sped up only slightly, trying to conceal her excitement this time.
I wonder...?

Illyrian had started to follow her, and Ayria kept a decent walking pace as they headed to the southern dens. She had no doubt in her mind that the new wolf would fit in. At the very least, she was bound to be better liked than...someone...
Rargh...Oh, how I wish I could get that she-wolf out of my mind... Moonrunner almost made her regret Brock's ascension to alpha. Almost. She rather liked being one of the top wolves, though. It meant that someone with more destructive motivations couldn't take her place. Was Moonrunner one of those types of wolves? She hoped not...
Illyrian spoke, and Ayria was brought out of her line of thought with the realization that she had neglected to introduce herself. "Ah! Sorry... I am Ayria, and I currently hold the position of alphess in this pack." Though that last part was obvious, because she wouldn't have had the authority to accept Illyrian into the pack otherwise, she still felt it needed saying.

| Bounding elegantly and lightly enough at a fast enough pace just to keep up with the alphess, the same alphess responded to her. A cheesy giant wolf grin plastered itself in comical fashion onto Illyrian face and she said delightedly, -"Awesome Ayria! You've go t a pretty name!" She continued to advance with the smile lingering on her face, and her eyes shone brightly, as she finally saw her new home through the trees. She swore, now that she took the time to observe keenly, that Ayria had something unpleasant on her mind, but kept quiet. She wanted to enjoy the glory of a new, wonderful change in her life!
Woo-hoo!
