Name: Vesperi
Gender: Female
Age: 3 years
Type: Timber/Arctic wolf
Pack: Western
Rank: Member
Items:
Ice Control
Shapeshifting
Enchanting Voice
Exotic Coat - light, frosty blue
Exotic Eyes - pale silver
Glittery Fur - silver glitter
Painted Claws - silver
Painted Nose - silver
Appearance:
Vesperi's body combines the arctic wolf's thick fur and stocky build with the timber wolf's size and facial proportions. She's fairly average height and weight wise, though perhaps a bit heavier than a pure-blooded timber wolf due to her thicker build. Her pelt shows signs of having once been pure white, though her top layer of fur is heavily frosted with pale blue, the color being slightly darker along her top, slightly lighter along her underside, and absent from the top of her muzzle and around her silvery eyes. Silver glitter is embedded throughout her pelt, almost making her appear as ice in bright sunlight. Her nose and claws are also silver, matching each other in hue.
Temperament:
Vesperi is very kind and loving once you get to know her. It's the getting to know her part that's tricky. It's not that she's anti-social, but she doesn't' typically seek out company and tends to be quiet around those she doesn't know. Around her pack, she's a bit less introverted, but even then she's not the most talkative wolf.
Vesperi is generally a calm, patient, overall laid-back wolf. Few are those who have ever seen her angry. She's respectful to those higher and lower in rank than her, and motherly to those who are younger. She hates fighting, but will shield a weaker wolf from an enemy attack without hesitation, and will attack to defend her life or the lives and territory of her pack, if necessary. If possible, she will look for a way to end the fight with the least possible injuries for all involved.
History:
Vesperi was born somewhere north of Yellowstone to a pack consisting of her parents, a single other breeding pair, and a handful of single wolves. The females of both pairs gave birth within the same week, with the alpha pair whelping five pups and Vesperi's parents whelping three a few days later. The two litters were kept separate for the most part while nursing, with each mother tending to her own young, but - once they were able to eat meat - the pups were equally cared for by all members of the pack.
At the start of her life, Vesperi had been a pure white wolf, though her eyes, nose, and claws have always been silver and she's always had a silvery sparkle to her fur. She has also been able to sing all her life, having inherited her enchanting voice from her mother. Her siblings and the other litter of pups also had their own distinguishing features and talents, with the oldest male from the other litter inheriting his mother's wings. As soon as he was old enough, he learned how to fly, and then he did so all the time. He would laugh and play in the air as much as he had energy, and Vesperi grew jealous of the older pup. No one's sure how it happened - whether it was an inherited gift from her father or whether her body simply discovered the power on its own - but one day as he was playing she morphed into a snowy owl and joined him. From that point on, her father began to train her, and she was soon able to adopt many different forms at will.
When the pups were deemed old enough, the older wolves began t train them to hunt and fight. The pups were eager apprentices, and eventually were able to work together to bring down a young caribou for the pack. As a reward for doing so well, they were all given basic training in the control of various elements, though each pup was only able to control one element. For Vesperi, this was ice, and she trained with Ikari - one of the single wolves in the pack and the only other wolf able to control ice - to learn how to master her element. It was around this time that her fair gained a faint blue tint. The blue tint gradually increased until she became a year old, where it reached its present state.
Not long after her first birthday, the breeding pairs had another litter each. Vesperi helped to care for the pups just as her packmates had taken care of her. Before she knew it, another year had passed and the pups grew faster than she knew was possible. Around this time, she and Hanu - the winged pup that had indirectly triggered her shapeshifting ability- began to notice each other in a romantic light. After much thought and discussion, they left with Tana - her sister - to find their own territory and start their own pack. The trio left their birth pack together and headed south toward an unclaimed land near a lake that they once spotted during a hunt.
What she didn't count on was that Hanu and Tana would also fall in love.
Vesperi was heartbroken when she found out, and tried desperately to win her beloved back. Eventually, though, she decided that her sister's happiness was more important than her own and gave the two her blessing. Pups were born not long after, and Vesperi was there to help the pair out when their young were the most vulnerable. As much as she loved them both, it was hard to watch them together, so - once the pups were semi-independent - she left the pack and headed even farther south, searching for her own place in the world.
And then she discovered Yellowstone.
